Santa Teresa Speedboat Tour: Review of Lavezzi & Piana Island
Corsica, is that captivating French island, now, has landscapes so striking, too, that you just might think you’ve wandered into a postcard. Visiting the island by land, I mean, is really delightful, yeah, yet getting out on the water, as I was saying, so, is where you really start experiencing its true beauty. This review, you know, zooms in on just one awesome way, that, anyway, I think people can do exactly that, so taking a speedboat tour, yeah, from Santa Teresa di Gallura to the islands of Lavezzi and Piana. I’ll run through my experiences, that is, highlighting what made it memorable and sharing some insights, well, I think could be useful if, in fact, you are thinking about making a similar splash. I think that, basically, the trip isn’t just seeing things, I’m honest, like I remember seeing families with their kids laughing a lot on the boat, you know, so that’s good, because it’s really creating these moments, in that case, people really will treasure. This journey, actually, that’s on the clear waters of the Mediterranean Sea, literally, delivers unbelievable views and plenty of chances just to get close to the natural beauty that defines this bit of the island. What follows is, as a matter of fact, an easy rundown, it’s almost, I guess, to share with you just how awesome a day out that it all is, alright?
Setting off from Santa Teresa: What you need to understand
Santa Teresa di Gallura, I mean, is like this nice town perched right at the northern tip of Sardinia, by the way, and it’s often a launch point, well, it certainly seems to be, just for excursions around the Archipelago de la Maddalena, which is awesome. What made our departure very convenient, now, for this adventure, right, was that we actually managed, right, to hop on a tour directly from the harbor. What’s useful, so, is that several operators, now, offer trips, yeah, to Lavezzi and Piana, just so you might want to have a peek online before arriving just to grab some comparative pricing. We found, at the end of the day, anyway, that there are so many options for times, I see, and different durations, so anyway that helped slot things into our travel schedule nice and neatly. Reaching the port’s just not something to fret about; you know, that, it’s in the middle of Santa Teresa so the walking from pretty much most spots in town is so easy. As we pulled into the harbor, actually, this atmosphere, very exciting, just pulsed through the area, well I suppose from other passengers looking forward to sailing around, you know. Double check, by the way, if you, just so you are ready for boarding and a bit of sea fun that may involve a lot of suncream, okay?
Speeding Away: The Thrill of the Ride
Once everyone hopped aboard, actually, the speedboat pushed away from the dock, well honestly that’s when all the charm really began, yeah. Actually, a speedboat is, arguably, just such a wicked way to take it all in because you will cut along the waves very swiftly, actually making the destinations closer than, I think, you thought. Actually, the ocean breeze, really incredibly refreshing, I mean, combined with the occasional sea spray, definitely adds a lively touch to the voyage. You will soon find out how awesome that view is and, like, to get a clear perspective out on the water like you were one of those boats. Seriously, for fans of photography, this trip’s an absolute win because the changing vistas, really incredible they are, provide awesome chances for great snapshots. If you glance over toward the coastline, right, you will witness it transforming with these rough cliffs along with tiny bays. Clearly, the speed itself, and all the sea surrounding us, clearly made it pretty cool as well. In other words it becomes something I, for one, will always hold really dear.
Lavezzi Island: Beaches and Beauty
Arriving at Lavezzi Island is definitely like walking right into another world; honest. That particular island, seemingly, you know, known very well for its striking granite formations along with its clean water, has plenty to hold any explorer’s attention, okay? After our boat dropped anchor, honestly, the first thing I did, really, was jump off, really to explore the coasts. Seriously, there’s this path snaking right around the perimeter you know, actually guiding us right over to different viewpoints and these hidden coves which is super awesome. What hit me right away was really just how pure and clear the water was. Visibility under the water, too it’s almost, stretched incredibly far, literally it feels. People with masks, like your typical snorkeler or anything like it, were, anyway, treated, I guess, to the many forms of marine life darting about these rock piles. Now, if you want to chill on the sand you can or there’s usually more exploring to do, if that works better? Take note if you go exploring you would, of course, definitely want shoes as all of these stones make it tricky underfoot, you’d expect.
Piana Island: Shallow Waters and Sandbars
We then moved on to Piana Island which does give such a comparison to Lavezzi because, in short, here is more gentle scenery and shallower waters; I see. I found, frankly, it was awesome to just casually stroll into the sea because the water never got high at all. As you walk from beach out to the water, in a way, these stretches of clean sand create awesome spots, you know, to wade and explore and enjoy; no question. And that is really awesome, the tour often includes downtime here. If you like watching lots of birds that come to hang out, maybe because of their local habitat or just migrating through, this could appeal more, or that’s what I figured out looking back, maybe. Basically, the clarity makes this spot another amazing option, actually perfect so I can have a good snorkeling, yeah.
Snorkeling and Swimming: Getting Closer to Marine Life
A primary lure on this cruise, basically, were really all those opportunities just to immerse myself right in those waters, clearly. Snorkeling is an incredible deal here, that is, I guess to make things even clearer; I found myself really just mesmerized simply by witnessing these sea animals go on with their everyday routine; amazing. Honestly, because there is lots of light beaming straight through this bright water you will spot loads of fish as they dodge around boulders down under. Snorkeling in Piana’s waters is not quite as good since things stay shallow. But in shallow waters these stretches of sand allow safe swimming, of course perfect if bringing smaller family and whatnot, that works actually, actually.
Things to know Before You Go
Prior to heading off there you probably need several ideas and bits so that your travels just run better, alright? I think just being armed makes for awesome days so check what’s here below.
- What to Pack: In other words never leave without bringing essentials that definitely include sunscreen, hats together with your favorite pair of sunglasses. Take extra towels and keep them accessible too it’s almost when, perhaps, more chances for swimming show up mid-voyage. A little waterproof carrier to ensure gadgets will be saved on splashes could prove important especially where things get extra windy.
- Food and Drinks: Many trips will, actually, give you these basic beverages yet it definitely won’t hurt getting something packed with your preferred drink choices so everyone can happily sip throughout the full trip, that is. Should anyone requires gluten-free things then those advance provisions become all critical here.
- What to wear: Consider light stuff designed, yeah, to dry without problems – believe me they are handy indeed the times we will sail directly near places along coastal regions; no doubt that will make a big impact given wind speeds during various periods we cruise within each passage segment!
- Book Ahead: Guaranteeing something that awaits actually provides greater control compared rather if attempting when getting already at departure – many become popular given periods over any given months which suggests planning something far out could give increased scope related any chosen travels too indeed – especially travelling together plus wider party folks around for things overall anyway
