San Francisco, is that a city that’s always captured imaginations, is it not? I mean, it’s that hilly terrain, those iconic landmarks, that special feel, so it pulls you in. I always thought I knew San Francisco, very like most people do, through movies, television, postcards, you know, the usual stuff. That is, until I experienced ‘The Flyer,’ and honestly, the city, I viewed, was never quite the same again, basically. This, too it’s almost an attraction, takes you on something of an immersive journey. We move up almost to the roof of Pier 39 and proceed to a comfortable seat and experience the magic.
What Is San Francisco the Flyer?
‘The Flyer’ experience in San Francisco, as a matter of fact it is a state-of-the-art motion platform combined with a 3D film, basically giving you a bird’s-eye view of the city. I mean, you’re suspended in that air, that is how it feels anyway, so you’re whisked away on an exciting tour, I thought, with the Golden Gate Bridge to Fisherman’s Wharf, more or less. What made it unique, pretty much was that it wasn’t just a film. I thought the seats move and tilt and even had that gentle spray of mist, maybe to give you the feeling of flying near water, you know, and a scent that reminded you of ocean spray, too it’s almost, actually. I’d never actually experienced anything else similar, really.

The sensation that I got when the seat dipped to follow that steep streets, that’s almost felt way too real, honestly! They are flying close to the Golden Gate Bridge, too it’s almost, actually I felt I could reach out and then touch that bright orange steel. That is not only was that the visual quality absolutely amazing, basically, that is, but the addition, if you could imagine of wind effects and those scents meant that this, more or less an experience was one of all your senses, is it not? It transported me. That short trip really showed me places of San Francisco I’d wanted to visit for all my life. But that new experience had me feeling those same streets.
