Lisbon, Ericeira, Azenhas Do Mar, & Mafra: A Personal Trip Review

Getting away can be a delightful experience, right? Especially if you pick a location with a good amount to see and do, the Lisbon, Ericeira, Azenhas Do Mar, and Mafra area, might be, like, that spot. We had a chance to explore these nice locales with a private tour recently. First Stop: Discovering Lisbon

You can almost imagine people in another time walking there. The tour guide really, you know, had lots of dates and stories, so too, that added lots to looking around.

Still, for instance, one thing that felt missing a bit was time that, very, maybe, could have been spent just wandering. Lisbon is almost really one of those cities where getting lost down the narrow streets that, yet, often leads to discovering cool shops, cafés, and, so, too, that is pretty unique viewpoints. Although the structured tour was helpful to get that good foundation, in some respects a bit of free time probably would have made it an ideal day.

Ericeira’s Coastal Charms

Leaving Lisbon and heading up the coast, Ericeira is a different scene totally. It is almost like a surf town that really, yet, has a nice relaxed feel, even though that’s something one might expect. It’s pretty famous for the surfing there, we are told, and we had a stop at one of the area beaches, and, you know, the guide told us that even complete beginners can usually catch waves pretty fast at spots in the region. Not a surfer you see. But that did sound like a pretty solid time.

Really Ericeira has more going for it than, you know, just catching waves. Its town center that too really boasts little narrow streets. I would describe them, by the way, as almost picture-perfect, along with some really nice spots that also often overlook the sea. We enjoyed a seafood lunch in a restaurant which you can find in the port which too really, now, it made for a good place for lunch, watching fishing boats and just hanging back was just what you, honestly, might require following Lisbon’s hectic atmosphere.

Azenhas Do Mar: Postcard Views Come Alive

Then from Ericeira that too really is Azenhas Do Mar, that really boasts to be among, seemingly, the most awesome coastal villages you can see. And that could actually be correct. Constructed upon cliffs overlooking the Atlantic, really its whitewashed houses make a bold statement contrasted towards the blue sea that seems unending. Yet this, by the way, is the sort of place you see pictured on postcards and tourist ads, though actually that that can sometimes disappoint upon looking closely.

I would describe, honestly, the Palácio Nacional de Mafra to appear quite gigantic. It’s the type of complex which makes some tourists say ‘wow, look at that’. Yet not that not only could you look over its appearance but really this large building serves as, basically, at least a palace and and and, just maybe even, a monastery at this time period that too now seemed to do both. That that does sound rather grandiose though, so yet though and yet there and here again we saw that our personal travel expert with us did take good control of almost every possible important thing we may actually have been curious in observing along the trip around.
