Apparently, buses to Ixmiquilpan depart frequently. Almost always, you need to get to Ixmiquilpan first. Seemingly, from there, you’re gonna need a local bus or a *collectivo* to Tolantongo. Maybe just a little patience is what you need. Be sure to check schedules. Alright? Because schedules can definitely vary, and sometimes it’s seasonal, which can impact your travel plans and your enjoyment of the entire experience. This should assist in planning a budget, right?

What to Expect: A Day at Tolantongo

Really, prepare to spend the day. Maybe even get there fairly early to beat the crowds, typically. Once you’re there, often you’ll find there are two main sections. Really protect your skin from the sun’s harmful rays. The altitude means that you could possibly burn quicker. Basically, you’ll want to stay hydrated, anyway. A bottle of water comes in handy for this adventure. And if you plan on taking lots of photos, you need a waterproof case for your phone or camera. A small investment. Book in advance to secure a spot in this beautiful place, really. These hotels tend to be pretty sought-after because of the ease they bring with it.

Well, it is cool that a wide range of foods are being served there. Well, it really covers local cuisine from different locations! In that case you’ll find spots to grab a bite easily. What does it offer? Okay, here it is – from very affordable to fairly costly restaurant options. It almost covers what you want. Very satisfying.

Is the Trip Worth It?

Arguably, if you’re a fan of seeing amazing, beautiful natural spots, it is. Could be just that. As I was saying, Tolantongo provides a reasonably unique experience that’s worth the travel. Even if, you are someone seeking relaxation, anyway. Basically, you need to explore something outside of Mexico City, obviously. Even though, the scenery, the hot springs, and all those experiences create what could be a reasonably memorable day trip.
