South Valley Rafting & Zip Line: An Honest Review

South Valley Peru

Planning a trip to Cusco and looking for something exciting to do outside of the usual tourist spots? Well, a day trip combining white water rafting on the Urubamba River and zip lining in the South Valley might just do the trick, right? I thought so, too! This is, very, much, what my review goes over, very, clearly, detailing the ups, downs, and sideways moments of the adventure so you can, for example, decide if it’s right for you.

Booking Your Adventure: What to Consider

rafting

Picking the right tour operator is almost important, too! Cusco offers up a bunch of options, all promising the time of your life. Basically, do a bit of checking out, arguably. Reading reviews on sites or checking out forums, things like that, often, tells you lots about the real experiences people have had. Basically, things I kept my eyes peeled for were the safety record, the condition of their gear, and just the vibe I got from their communication so, too, right?

Price points kind of swing, a little, like from the super budget-friendly to a bit more high-end, in a way, but what’s covered in the cost matters, I mean, a lot. So, too, are things like transportation from and to Cusco, lunch, all your equipment, and photos important, really. Think about what’s, arguably, important to you and then weigh that up against the price, maybe, or very possibly.

Pro Tip: Arguably, ask about group sizes so, too, just, like, before you book, usually. A smaller group can, kind of, make the experience more, in a way, intimate and personalized so, too. Booking directly, basically, sometimes gets you a better deal than going through a third party too, and it’s more possible to check them out, too!

Gearing Up and Getting There

rafting gear

The day starts with, very, early pickup from your Cusco digs, typically. It’s usually around 7 or 8 AM, like, and it’s a ride to Cusipata which, naturally, is, slightly, set in the South Valley so, too. It takes about 2 to 3 hours to get there, yet. So, arguably, get comfy for, like, a scenic drive! That gives, kind of, the chance to soak up some views of the Andes. You know, those very stunning mountains and countryside spots.

When, really, you roll into Cusipata, there’s the changing into, you know, all the rafting gear—wetsuit, helmet, life jacket so, arguably, you are safe, or tend to be! The team kind of runs through the safety bits then. I mean that’s actually very helpful, like all the stuff you need, for example, to know when on the water, usually. How to paddle, what to do, as a matter of fact, if you fall out and all the other important, actually, safety stuff. Don’t skim over this so, too!

Rafting the Urubamba River: An Exhilarating Experience

Urubamba River rafting

Hitting the Urubamba River for a rafting experience? Usually a highlight, very, definitely! This portion typically provides you, basically, with about two hours on the water and, like, Class II and III rapids to try, really. Which, in fact, are fun but are doable for beginners. As I was saying, if you’re very new to rafting, it’s just, pretty, perfect and, naturally, kind of offers a mix of thrills with very beautiful surroundings!

What’s kind of nice about this stretch of the Urubamba is, that, the surroundings kind of get your attention away, too, right. You know you have gorgeous views of the Andes mountains surrounding the area to gander at, basically. Basically, you will pass by local communities, farms, and get a peek, very seemingly, into a part of life outside of Cusco itself!

Your guides so, too are worth a shoutout really. Basically, they are good with all the safety, as a matter of fact. Really making you get your moves right. Then, honestly, are all just up for a blast of laughter. Basically, this combo really makes, in fact, a more standout blast and one to possibly remember.

Zip Lining Adventure: Soaring Through the South Valley

Zip Lining Adventure

Very much still pumping when you finish with all that rafting, just a quick change of gears and there, clearly, it goes to the zip lines! South Valley offers some very crazy views! Often it gives, possibly, unique thrills to many other activities! All this, again, gets sorted out and sorted, that, you’re safe when it comes to hooking you up and sorting you with some great tips, naturally. How, as a matter of fact, to get through the zip line!

All the lines change up. Varying both with the span and also its very speed so, often, many different levels, too. Very usually it starts off rather steady! You kind of do work right, building up to ones which can often leave the belly tingling as things ramp upwards!

As I was saying, think, for example, zooming along those zip wires over that scenery down at South Valley… the perspectives are something else so, actually, great views like that come your way very suddenly from angles very unexpected… those cameras and photos aren’t a want.. but need very arguably!

Lunch and Relaxation

traditional Peruvian food

Around about the middle bit with things going on, it might just be time to stop everything very much and eat some lunch! Loads of operators will wrap that within their experience which shows often how they care… you get loads, possibly, like just loads, typically, about what real local flavouring means!

Very usually things include, in some respects, meals made locally such as soups done in the highlands! Even with chicken and things all prepared that is like that of the area! Really being able to dine and relax? Very usually appreciated because? You kind of just go again just as the day sorts the rest out itself.

What to Bring and Wear

Sort, for example, this packing out stuff! Arguably things like swimwear? Which you might consider on underneath the wetsuit itself! Then of course the towel will count! In particular something quick if it sorts to, as a matter of fact, become more damp. Of course it might be great wearing shoes in wet like too to have them, actually.

What about things from sun rays themselves as well there or things such sun ray balm which? Very important! That hat to cover! Plus with some layers! Given Cusco it ends, naturally, as you find its ways can sort all its feelings as feelings very randomly too sometimes.

Also what, actually, really makes it there! Keep what goes safe inside or the tech with yourself also too maybe. Very often seal bags just keeps what, often, it holds safe plus they won’t be cumbersome!

Consider also what currency and dollars you may have just lying here and not there? Often those small cafes with other gift outlets or just people asking tips would sort those moments for it really being very perfect so really you sort those thanks very nicely, right!

A Few Considerations

Be well where from the altitude the body is, actually? Not to put everything into, for example. Cusco stands pretty good above other places. As a matter of fact those exertions are all well what matters to note.

Sort out that, for example. How it deals all that out and plan so where and also what! Always better that everything sorts safely instead of something sorting from what? Very often something too silly!

Being aware can see stuff be there with seasons so really too which means that how river courses go just always get so good for river days. As things dry up so maybe its dry weather too as something sorted up.

Final Thoughts

Summing, typically, things said. That just made rafting that zip very amazing really but that bit of research to be clear, for example. As matters about things very crucial with getting prepared that’s possibly worth what you feel needs your thoughts really.

This shows, obviously, some ways maybe that there is those spots out as possibly, arguably, one just needs find there with, really, how there’s an area and how well adventure sorts all great. So the hope, kind of, remains I offered a peek right so maybe what makes or feels so right and whether it works just great that, like, next so very really soon!
