Shoalwater Dolphin Cruise Review: Is It Worth It?
Considering taking the Shoalwater 1-Hour Dolphin Scenic Canal Cruise? So, you’ve probably got loads of questions, right? I get it. Deciding if a tour, especially one that revolves around seeing super cool wildlife, is going to be worth your hard-earned cash can be, like, tricky. I went on this very cruise, and, you know, I’m ready to spill all the beans – the good, the not-so-good, and, well, everything in between. It’s almost like a rollercoaster of pros and cons, you see, and I’m here to guide you all the way.
What the Shoalwater Cruise Offers
Ok, so basically, this cruise promises an hour, give or take, of sightseeing through the canals of Shoalwater, near Perth, Western Australia, specifically. The big draw, that everyone talks about, is the chance to spot some playful dolphins in their place, splashing around. The cruise folks say you’ll get amazing close-up views of these sea mammals, plus the beautiful homes that line the canals, too. They usually point out, too, a few bird species and give some info about the place as you drift by. They mention about how beautiful it is out here, yeah, especially on a pretty day, actually.
The Dolphin Spotting Experience
Here’s basically what you really care about, isn’t it? Seeing dolphins. So, yeah, did we spot some? Lucky for us, we totally did! In fact, like, almost right away, very soon after we set off. These awesome dolphins started, like, playing in the water near the boat, showing off quite beautifully. One even did a little jump! I’m telling you it’s worth it to have the chance to view those acrobatic creatures, and that really wowed everyone onboard, and really surprised them. That said, spotting dolphins is, like, not guaranteed. The skippers obviously do their top most effort to take you where dolphins tend to hang out, yet, they’re wild animals, obviously, that do their thing based on when they feel like it, so there’s a little element of chance. Is that alright? So, to speak they can make any certain promise, no.
The Cruise Itself: Comfort and Views
The boat itself felt reasonably, really well looked after. There’s enough seating for everybody. It wasn’t at all uncomfortable. You’re able to, almost, stroll about the deck and take photos from varying positions, really great actually. The views? Pretty stunning. The canal houses are something to marvel at; they’re huge and so cool to peek at a little, but naturally the views out over the open water are really beautiful. I was able to capture a bunch of fantastic photos of the scenery. I mean it could have been any where really.
Commentary and Information
During the cruise, there’s commentary from the skipper, providing information and a lot of history about the area and, surprisingly, on the dolphins. To be honest, the sound system was just alright, but nothing to worry about, some passengers at the back of the boat did say, that they were having problems hearing everything being said. The stuff we could clearly hear was really good. Actually very educational and the skipper was enthusiastic which made a very big difference to our trip experience that we could really be very enthusiastic about. Some guests may be really enthusiastic with your help.
Potential Drawbacks of the Cruise
Now for, a few, of the things, that weren’t spot on. Firstly, the weather. Now, that’s uncontrollable I suppose, however, that does impact your experience considerably. On a rainy or, very windy day, this cruise just, you know, wouldn’t be fun for all, and can cause seasickness for anyone prone to this. Secondly, it’s an hour. I can imagine, if you didn’t see dolphins you might feel it wasn’t worth it at all for that short amount of duration of time. Thirdly, the price tag, is like, reasonable. Though, if there are quite a lot of you it adds up pretty sharpish. It will depend a lot on if the creatures are, like, feeling co-operative on the day, seriously.
Value for Money: Is it Worth the Cost?
So, is this Shoalwater Dolphin Scenic Canal Cruise worth your hard-earned pennies? I reckon it could be, but it depends on a few considerations. For nature enthusiasts, notably if you’re seriously fascinated by dolphins, then I reckon, the potential to see these wonderful sea animals in the wild is actually awesome and wonderful, I mean. It really will depend a great deal on that dolphin’s participation. If, for example, you go out and see loads then it makes the, reasonable, ticket cost completely worth it, for some. Actually you pay a bit of amount of money to enjoy the view even you cannot watch dolphins, or marine life. Then that really, the scenery, is great too. On the other hand, if you aren’t at all bothered about wildlife spotting, then this cruise perhaps isn’t, right for your interest.
Tips for Making the Most of Your Cruise
Here are some hints to allow you to increase your dolphin cruise experience, to take into consideration: First, definitely book beforehand, especially throughout top peak season times to ensure you get a spot booked. Second, see what the weather’s going to be, for real, check. The experience is 10x better on a bright and sunny day! Third, don’t forget your camera, but obviously! You’re likely wanting to snap loads of photos of those animals. You might need sun screen if its a glorious day, and perhaps something to chuck on in case that it, for example, gets windy, and, as a matter of fact, to always remember seasickness remedies if needed.
In Summary: A Memorable Canal Adventure?
This cruise, is one that had both, good points, and less good, obviously! Spotting the dolphins made that adventure awesome, however there are several considerations that could have an impact on your entire experience. So to answer the primary question: Yeah, I suppose this can be very worthwhile!
- Dolphin Spotting: This is the main event, seriously. If you spot them, the cruise is awesome.
- Scenery: The canals and views out to sea are extremely great to check out.
- Weather Dependent: Actually, bad weather really can ruin the experience so definitely do check the forcast for the weather that day!
The experience of wildlife varies with individuals, yet a great day can give beautiful experiences.
