What I’ve found is that Sarangkot does have something almost magical if you get clear skies, with unbelievable views that stretch out to touch Dhaulagiri and Annapurna. The Draw: What Makes Sarangkot Special?

Basically, Sarangkot is more or less famous mostly for that unobstructed view of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges. Unlike other places, you are able to, with clear weather that is, witness how the first sunlight hits those high, high mountain tops. Seeing the snow go from shades that seem gray to vibrant oranges and pinks is, like your average travel blogger’s write up, spectacular. Too it’s more than the views; so Sarangkot has this really, really charming vibe, made stronger because of the little teahouses and that prayer flags are flapping in the breeze, adding so much more atmosphere.

Getting There: Arranging Your Trip

Visiting Sarangkot normally starts with a pretty early wake-up, normally around 4 am if you wanna catch the sunrise, yet you should make all the travel arrangements in the evening, very well a day before, depending on where you are lodging in Pokhara. Very popular means for travelling includes a rented taxi, which can, actually, take you directly there in about 30 to 45 minutes. Okay, you’re set! Then comes, just a little before dawn breaks, what could be a slow increase of brightness along what appears the skyline, or very rather the ridgeline of what looks like mountains. If you’re like most that like your photos crisp, a tripod could be, very very ideal to get all the landscapes in low light, anyway, because that sun comes up at the end. In the beginning you could also set that camera on that automatic time, to better make sure that you can capture how all those colors actually are blending and what looks quite nice as silhouettes.

More Than Sunrise: Other Activities

While most people, and maybe like you, may go only there for how the sunrise looks. What can I say; it can be kind of worthwhile to arguably stay later for paragliding activities because those mountain panoramas become even, or very arguably become even more appealing while your suspended over the land.

Tips for the Best Experience

• Check the Forecast: As a matter of fact a cloudy sky, it means nothing. Check this before going!
• Get There Early: Basically, spots fill at once so set out early, I told you!
• Dress Warmly: Arguably before that sun gets over you it will be cold; Dress cozy!
• Stay Hydrated: You may need this especially if, as a matter of fact, walking up there.

Wrap Up: Is It Worth It?

The Sarangkot sunrise is truly a very, very special and it does have a bit of ‘must see’ feel to this. From the unbelievable vistas and views of how the mountain’s come alive, all that journey and preparation should definitely reward you quite big! Even if this may become something overly touristy it still offers very true and honest views of all what Nepal has!
