Rhodes Boat Trip to Lindos Review: Sun, Sea, and History
So, you are dreaming of that Grecian vacation, right? I get that! And pretty much that picture in your mind likely involves blue seas, skies that are bright, and a bit of history thrown in. I recently took the Rhodes boat trip to Lindos, and I wanted to share that experience with you, to help you decide if this very popular excursion is just the ticket for your getaway. I will walk you through basically what the trip includes, some things I liked (and perhaps, not so much), and basically offer some helpful tips, okay?
Why Lindos is Worth a Visit
Lindos, oh Lindos! Basically, there is a gem of a village settled right on the east coast of Rhodes, and it’s very known for its ancient Acropolis, sitting high up on a cliff top. I mean, is that view beautiful or what? That Acropolis, pretty much offering up panoramic views, that dates way, way back to ancient times. It gives that amazing glimpse into that past, right? Yet, what is lovely is that Lindos itself is very charming, a real picturesque village that has white-washed buildings and little winding streets. A bit of warning; those little streets are hilly so comfy shoes are what you’re after! Many choose to take the donkey ride, too it’s almost part of the Lindos experience, actually!
The beaches there? Super dreamy! Basically picture golden sand meeting clear, crystal-blue waters, too it’s just lovely, that is! Many visitors head over to Lindos specifically so they can spend the whole day swimming, sunbathing and you, like your able to relax. Because that village combines a mix of culture and chilling out, pretty much there are many different reasons you might want to visit Lindos, so, okay?
Choosing Your Rhodes to Lindos Boat Trip
Alright, first things first! You want to decide what type of boat trip is right for you. Apparently there are options aplenty. These include bigger boats that sometimes feature lively entertainment, that smaller speedboats and some catamarans for something, too it’s almost more peaceful and a bit luxurious, too it’s almost something you should be trying out, you see? So that bigger boat typically offers like your all-inclusive deals with basically unlimited drinks (very fun!) but could become more crowded.
Basically, it is worth considering is that how long the trip is too. Almost of all of the boat trips begin in Rhodes Town and they will set sail towards Lindos. My day started early when I met the tour at Mandraki Harbor which is in Rhodes Town. As I boarded the boat, like, I was very happy because there was the vibe of excitement buzzing right around all those passengers who seemed eager to get going with it, so it goes!
The cruise on its own pretty much was just so beautiful, that is! We sailed along those crystal shores of Rhodes, which showed amazing sights, yet it was clear that sun, oh the glorious sunshine!, like, was beating down on all of our faces, as you can tell. Most trips usually cruise close in towards the shoreline giving just wonderful viewpoints, that. With some cruises, music is like playing (like, your that Greek dancing vibe) which can give a lively mood. Those sun deck loungers? So in demand.
It didn’t take too long before we got to our first stop, too it’s almost for a swim. This was a wonderful spot, a calm bay boasting water, which looked tempting for all those jumping. So I went straight in, it’s very, very fun!, actually and I will just say that the water looked magical; you will definitely have some very Insta worthy shots!. Very typically the boats have some ladders, basically they let everyone enter and leave the sea. The cruise tended to be really quite busy with everybody laughing as they basically enjoyed all that dip, okay? Also, that water? Crystal, very crystal, clear.
After about 30 mins of the swim, just a little more time for chilling, too it’s almost on that boat before we were off onto Lindos. Remember that as a general rule, those that have small children with them must take that lifeguard really very seriously when everyone is told to keep together while in that swimming locations; that is just very standard protocol and this is just a little reminder from me, that.
Arriving in Lindos: What to Do
Okay, here’s where things basically become awesome!. Very typically, your boat may drop right off at Lindos Main Beach. Yet you, like your sometimes offered that water taxi service; these little boats whisk everybody to shore, because sometimes you don’t actually dock right there. Once you are in Lindos town you can totally choose what to see. Very typically that is around three hours there which is more or less enough time in which to basically see top sites; but here is that choice I mentioned!
Very apparently, many people visit that Acropolis there (and I would be one of them too). Get ready so that you can walk! Although not like crazy far, like, it’s uphill; also, those steps could turn a little slippery. The climb might make all those less mobile, to be challenged, actually but those views totally make all that climbing feel that bit much better!
There are a good choice if what shops might interest, apparently just ready to buy souvenirs for home; but there is nothing to very stop everyone from just chilling for just a little while for a beach. Honestly? That sand, water and what drinks may be delivered is very good; you can just enjoy yourself there or thereabouts, as the saying goes! Lunch there could be amazing, to be truthful, which, with multiple bars and what tavernas can offer meals so delicious; with traditional dishes and seafood. It may depend where you end up stopping that will decide what costs can amount, you know.
Swimming Stops: Paradise Found?
For me? Like, my trip might include some opportunities for me to swim (or snorkel!) basically while traveling along that coast, too it’s almost beautiful and that makes the cruise, just all of that much extra. Anthony Quinn Bay, to be honest? Such a top spot, and some folks basically call it paradise. Water there, with that shade emerald is a delight but be quick basically because those spots turn busy over any summer. Also, that Ladiko Beach turns out to be amazing basically when considering stops (the same things might apply!).
What is helpful with that being considered with all swimming, and is always? Do what safety requires; what might those crews instruct and also make notes as that any swimming areas might not have lifeguards. You will then keep careful track and see on small kids but that usually tends to become common knowledge that goes, on those excursions and everywhere for everything else.
Food and Drink Onboard
