Review: Tirana to Dhermi – a Look at a 2-Day Albanian Riviera Tour

The Albanian Riviera, it’s almost like this hidden jewel on the Balkan Peninsula, it seems to be just waiting to be discovered. If you’re thinking about swapping the usual European hotspots for something that’s got a bit more character, the “From Tirana: 2-Day Albanian Riviera Dhermi Guided Tour,” it might just be what you’re looking for. I recently had a chance to see what all the excitement was about, so I figured I’d give you a good look at what you can expect.

Setting off From Tirana

Tirana Albania Departure

Leaving from Tirana, you get a glimpse of the city waking up, and soon you’re heading to the coast. It’s roughly that three-hour drive, yet that scenery changing bit by bit—from city streets to countryside hills—that gives you a sense that adventure is about to start. That drive, anyway, is really comfortable, and it’s a plus since the guides they share some stories regarding Albania’s history as you drive along. It’s kind of setting the scene for what you’ll be checking out later.

That Stunning Llogara Pass

Llogara Pass View

One of the top points? Has to be the Llogara Pass. When you pull up there, more or less, it feels like you’re on the top side of Albania, that you see the Ionian Sea in all of its expansive beauty. That air is truly crisper up there, and there is truly some element that’s quite calming about gazing out over such a view. Be ready to take pictures, the panorama is the real deal. Arguably, that stop’s pretty worth that entire drive alone!

Dhermi: Where it’s all Happening

Dhermi Beach Albania

Dhermi, very, very soon it’s kind of a beach town vibe going on that doesn’t try very hard, that the beaches really are inviting and the sea almost begs for someone to take a swim. That town, really, strikes a pretty decent compromise regarding being lively but chilled-out. Spend that afternoon relaxing on the beach; you almost watch the waves; and it makes an afternoon pretty darn relaxing. And that sunsets? Pretty amazing.

Things to check out in Dhermi and the Surrounding Places

Dhermi Attractions

Beaches Aplenty: Dhermi’s beach is pretty, pretty amazing. I am saying Gjipe Beach, which requires, almost, a short hike, anyway it gets pretty secluded and so attractive. Basically, try getting your toes in that sand in as many beaches as you may actually find.
That Monastery of Saint Mary: When you need a gulp of history, you have to check that spot. The architecture and the religious vibes there can be pretty strong, and there may be an amazing photo shoot.
Cave exploring: Along the coast, there are, just a bit, some awesome caves just ripe and ready that someone has to poke around in. Most likely you’re going to take a boat to actually view them; but, really, they’re rather worth doing for an extraordinary touch.

Where you should be Resting your Head: Where to sleep

Dhermi Accommodation

The tour, rather, takes care regarding accommodations; in general, and that guest houses or little hotels tend to be quite comfortable. Okay, they aren’t very flash, but really they get pretty neat, they’re offering just a decent place for a breather once you use that entire day investigating. Really expect that you’re going to find the charm around there: they’re basically run at your regular people who are nice too, making you believe more comfortable.

That Grub: Tasty food

Albanian Food

Albanian food is pretty good! Seriously. So many times I eat that fresh seafood (clearly since we are by a coast). They tend to use only like your local ingredients (really organic basically) meaning it tastes authentic; too it’s also pretty darn comforting. Don’t pass those spots to eat in Dhermi. Sometimes I notice little taverns, more or less the types your grandparents ran: they’re actually where you’re checking out those absolute dishes nobody tells anyone else.

What that tour covers (So there are no mix-ups).

  • Comfortable Transport all around.
  • All in, spots in places you are sleeping and breakfats.
  • Guides you will find awesome.
  • Not stuff like your own lunch money, and not when you purchase suveniors.

How much that costs (So you actually know).

Basically it costs for real like what to anticipate prices! Tours could shift the costs slightly, yet be budgeting nearly 150-250 euros basically something or other when you take what it handles with a guide: you are spending really to be chill for that duration.

Bring Along and Smart thoughts: To remember:

  • Sneakers, walking’s happening; walking is cool too; that is, anyway;
  • Sun tanning cream like your actual sun-protection-kinda-deal; basically that Riviera gets loads of sunlight it’s almost stupid (how much they shine!);
  • Coin/Cash change in coin/paper; plenty smaller spot is basically coin-money or actual cash money type businesses… yes they want like your monies;
  • Your actual self… with your own cam, is arguably something amazing (if only that is if photos makes that vacation for realer (when really its fun, in all aspects!))!

Individuals which is kinda who this arguably attracts.

  • Solos travelling (come mingle, very, really very safe at any part);
  • Couples wanting a mini trip (hey great memory potential there really);
  • Smaller group; good-timers actually like vacationing but chill about the world.

A Little about those Times, you can visit by year.

  • Summertime (real HOT/crowded, that one caveat tho: swims feels amazin).
  • Spring and fall, almost cooler (nice almost; for sightseeing sans sweat dripping really bad.)

Quick warnings maybe.

  • Book tours almost rather fast, for tour managers might just be short handed, they can get filled too…
  • Being flexible (basically a traffic problem, like mountains…)!

Quick Summing thoughts, so you actually think that sounds rad

Albanian Riviera Pros and Cons

Then? Basically the 2 day tour I took, like it turned arguably really well (if you ignore i wanted it like my grand grand parent). With all sincerity it mixes: just chill by a spot (you may tan for your grandmas eyes…), getting historical/knowledge is arguably all one could ask? I, so personally speaking that would argubly do again. Really; and i’d tell most of those kinda wanting somethin’ beyond what they usually want?! Check that Albania. Like seriously! it’s pretty worth one time; with anyone…
