Review: Old & New Delhi Private Full-Day City Tour

Alright, so you’re thinking about checking out Delhi, and you’ve seen that whole “Private Full Day City Tour of Old and New Delhi” thing floating around, right? I thought I’d break down what it’s like to actually do it. It seems like a solid way to pack in as much as you possibly can, but very here’s my honest take.

Why Go Private in Delhi?

Private Car Delhi

Picture this: Delhi’s, like, kinda famous for its crazy traffic, it can get tricky very quickly. I mean, imagine dealing with that plus figuring out public transportation, too, just to see all the sights! That’s where doing a private tour looks attractive, in my opinion. Having your own car with someone who actually knows their way around? Could be worth its weight in gold, like your own chariot skipping across the town. Seriously!

A tour just for you is more than just getting around with someone else at the wheel. You get a chance to decide what you’re up to and skip those spots that don’t do that much for you. Interested more in the older buildings or you could be all about grabbing great food? It seems you can move your plans around very quickly with your own driver, which makes things much more pleasurable, really.

Old Delhi: A Step Back in Time

Old Delhi Street

Ok, Old Delhi – that’s where things get properly interesting. We began near the Red Fort, and very let me just tell you, it’s something you have to see. Like pictures don’t do it credit – that building is very grand. You can think of people of the Mughals walking the very halls, too, in some respects. Anyway it sets the stage for what’s up ahead.

The Chandni Chowk market really got my senses reeling! A flurry of spices, goodies, and street morsels, you know? You weave all over and that too its something to experience if you are up for it. Keep in mind you can feel like a sardine sometimes, you know? The crowds are immense, alright!

Our guide then suggested a rickshaw excursion, and just tell you something its essential for visiting. Very just think someone pedals and it takes you winding with the pathways to get some fantastic sounds. Of course, its great to remember a lot, to pay your rower but its really worth it!

New Delhi: Colonial Grandeur and Modern Marvels

New Delhi Buildings

Switching over to New Delhi almost makes it feel like you’re in an almost different place. It’s kind of cool how they’re so different, and yet right next to each other, I would say. The India Gate is seriously gigantic. We drove by the President’s house, the Parliament, the colonial construction is genuinely beautiful too. The open streets are a welcome break of Old Delhi’s crazy crowd.

Humayun’s Tomb looked beautiful with it’s resemblance of the Taj Mahal. And because the crowds are far less this one is a must visit! Then you go and enjoy calm while also exploring a part of history too.

Food, Glorious Food!

Delhi Food Stall

You won’t see Delhi fully if you don’t sample its tastes – alright! We told our guy early we wanted some snacks with authenticity. We had great Dahi Bhalla and yummy kebabs that are definitely hard to forget, right.

For somewhere nice to sit, you’d want Karim’s place somewhere close to Jama Masjid; word around the camp that is some traditional stuff with flavor, yeah! Ask the guide to take with the safe spots – you cannot afford to suffer something. You want the joy with tastes instead.

Things to Consider Before Booking

Delhi Traffic

Okay, so here’s some straight talk. A ‘full day’ means a legitimately full day and its very a proper rush, right. Plan to be spent with energy and you are still buzzing with what happened. The Delhi traffic? Its not fiction so that to avoid long periods on ride it could affect the tour, yeah?

Keep it very simple too! Being sure for bottle-water so you avoid any problems, that’s not up. And on visiting any worship venue respect traditions from wearing respectfully.

Is a Private Tour Worth the Extra Dough?

So, bottom line, the million-dollar question. If dodging hassle, seeing piles in quick duration and also personalizing matter – do take something! Definitely worth paying more just to have someone managing those aspects. Nevertheless, people comfortable through independent roaming might choose different methods rather. It really relies upon you alright!
