When organizing a trip to Inverness, Cawdor Castle, Clava Cairns, and the Cairngorms, anyway, planning ahead is key for everything, right? Arguably, Inverness acts like a great starting point, with loads of accommodation options and it provides good transportation links. So, too, if you are trying to do this without a car. By the way, you can also book organized tours from Inverness that usually cover all three locations, but they sometimes feel rushed, is that fair? Instead, if you’re trying to visit them at your own tempo, and want to just immerse yourself a little bit more in the sites, renting a car is arguably worthwhile.

Cawdor Castle has its own opening times, so very be sure to double check the opening times online to avoid disappointment. A bit similarly, be very aware of Scotland’s weather which can shift rapidly, and by that I mean rapidly! Clearly, dress in layers. Actually, that’s how you should prepare, and always bring a waterproof jacket, honestly. Basically, booking accommodations ahead of time is often smart, mostly in the busy tourist season (basically spring or summer). Remember though, rural locations may of had limited services and maybe the signal might not always be very strong.
