Review: Airbus A320 Motion 4D Flight Simulator, Frankfurt Airport

So, you have ever wondered what it actually feels like to be the person piloting a huge Airbus A320? Maybe you’re thinking, is that even something someone can experience without, you know, going through years and years of serious training? At Frankfurt Airport, very near to all the takeoffs and landings, is that, a very, very unique Airbus A320 Motion 4D Flight Simulator that could give you that feel. Anyway, here is my review, after actually trying it out, hopefully giving some solid info and, just maybe, even answering a few of the questions you have, actually about it.

First Impressions: Getting Ready to Fly

Just maybe, your first look might leave a person rather impressed. Clearly, they’ve aimed for that real cockpit kind of feel as much as they possibly could, with most of the things in almost the same place like in the real thing. As a matter of fact, you’re going to see all kinds of switches, buttons, screens, all those lights, so too, that familiar-feeling yoke. Well, at least to a movie watcher anyway. You, almost get that thought like you’re very nearly sitting right inside of a real airplane.

Then, very quickly after, is that you’re getting ready with, I guess what you call your instructor. So, a very good pilot gives all fliers like yourself the rundown, actually on what everything is. Even, maybe showing how to actually manage that throttle and, clearly, explaining just what all those key instruments there show. You kind of begin to actually get all antsy for your first simulated flight because of this.

Taking Control: How Realistic is the Experience?

Then, taking to the sky really does feel pretty impressive because they also add some fancy movement, that gives the bumps a feel that makes your tummy do funny things. Very much like when you’re in a regular plane, or, I guess a very dramatic car ride if I’m going to be completely honest. Just a little jolt during bad simulated weather makes it just that much more believable. What really ups the ante for believability too, it seems, are all the views they simulate out of that windshield. You can select pretty much wherever, as in nearly any airport out of literally thousands on Earth to “fly” out of and the stuff shown outside is very detailed. Every single little street, light, car, building, and landmark.

But, you will note too, if you actually have spent a ton of time, actually flying these big planes or anything, is that it is not going to be completely spot-on. Then again, they do have several kinds of modes which affect how easy it will be, so they kind of let beginners ease into all that stuff. In some respects, it might be just what you actually want for anyone trying it out just for kicks. I mean you can actually feel challenged and it makes a really great starting point, while never making you feel utterly stressed.

The 4D Element: Adding Sensory Details

Alright, so, how they did the fourth dimension actually is rather neat. Just like how you see in special movie showings, they actually use smells, wind, and more to help the person experience something. Very much to make that feel while you’re piloting a bit more total and all around you.

Then, just think you start smelling the fuel and kerosene too, while adding some shakes when those engines spool. It could very much up your response in how nervous you might get. As a matter of fact, all of this actually just adds that tiny extra zing, and so makes every trip up in the air a ton memorable. Though very subtly applied, which, it feels makes this place do better when using all this stuff when compared to similar amusement rides that almost always go totally overboard and start being obnoxious because of it. It makes you respect all those that fly so very often.

Is It Worth the Cost? Weighing the Pros and Cons

Frankfurt Airport

Okay, it’s not always exactly very cheap. In some respects, expect it’ll set someone back like you or myself some money if you want even that small bit of time “at the controls”. However, that thought alone doesn’t mean “not good”. It feels very unique. So, pretty much worth it if you adore airplanes or actually just need something very cool and novel while close to Germany’s biggest airport.

Of course, clearly a flight sim player with some serious time in the hobby might not be as totally thrilled just due to knowing the actual nuances involved and just what you need for super realism. But this has appeal if you’re searching to impress that spouse, need a special kinda date for someone really special, or just have some kids you know adore planes.

Final Verdict: A Fun and Engaging Experience

Well, honestly, the Airbus A320 Motion 4D Flight Simulator really near the Frankfurt Airport could just really make for a blast if someone adores airplanes or has that special someone in your life that has that love. What seems impressive sights plus just maybe the somewhat-believable touch feeling and additional little tweaks just seem very cool while you play that pilot.

In a way, even though it is not totally true to real life when, maybe put up against hardcore flying sim rigs, this manages to be a killer way, almost, to actually expose people, to getting behind some big controls for real and might be that solid gift someone needed for holidays and such. In some respects, think it’s worth checking the thing out should your planes come into Frankfurt, so, maybe give it a look-see.
