A peaceful boat ride down the Tam Coc river took us gliding past these karsts. It had a tranquil and rather photogenic scene everywhere. That, together with some caves which give you the chance to duck as you scoot through – all add to the charm.

Bich Dong Pagoda was something else to view. Nestled on a cliff, and while modest in scale, the temples deliver unique insights into local Buddhism. Still, walking up steps in the day’s heat really wasn’t easy. Afterwards, we hopped on bicycles. To pedal through rural landscapes was a needed change of pace; you can really get into the serenity away from busy areas, might be.

Ninh Binh was absolutely the standout location of this 2-day sprint. Even with limited time, you actually get to properly engage with what it is, so too its serene vibes. The boat ride and bike ride alone are worth carving out some time here, could be.

Food on the Go: Can You Truly Taste Vietnam?

Meals during such a whirlwind tour are quick and, you know, practical. Don’t expect elaborate culinary journeys, anyway. You’re looking more at decent lunches in tourist-aimed restaurants, very. These eateries usually provide some typical dishes, that’s certain; yet nothing stands out to savor local cuisine intricately. Meals served their purpose. It helped to refuel us as we moved onwards rather fast from place to place, alright?
