Palma Segway Tour: City Highlights & Seafront Review

Considering a cool way to zip around Palma de Mallorca? Well, then perhaps you are curious about the Palma City Highlights and Seafront Segway Tour. So, I had a chance to try it, and I am going to share my experience, focusing on what you, like your everyday tourist, might find helpful. After all, tours can be tricky – are they really worthwhile, and do they really show you everything you’d expect?

Getting Started with Your Palma Segway Adventure

First, there’s the meet-up spot. After all, no one wants to get lost before the adventure even starts! The meeting place is, in a way, pretty easy to find, normally centrally located and often near a familiar landmark. Actually, look for clear signs and maybe even a gaggle of people wearing helmets – that’s probably it! At first, I was kind of anxious about riding a Segway, but the instructors were very calm. The introduction is typically smooth, with instructors who know their stuff. We went through some very quick training. I mean, just learning to balance and steer, that sort of thing. It might seem a little complicated at first, yet after a few minutes, even a beginner like myself got the hang of it. Then, you are off!

Gliding Through Palma’s Historic Streets

Palma Historic Streets Segway

We started going through the little, tiny, twisting roads, and that, to be honest, was where the fun took off. We cruised around places such as the Old Town. Also, you could see landmarks very easily. The guide would stop every so often and tell some historical facts, which was very informative. I almost thought it would just be zipping around, yet I learned very much along the way. The Segway made it actually super to cover lots of ground very fast, yet you are also able to stop whenever something grabs your eye. After all, what’s the point of a tour if you just whiz by all the pretty stuff?

The Stunning Seafront Views

Next up, there is the coastline section, which for me, was a high point. Seriously, gliding along the sea felt amazing, particularly with the breeze coming off the water. We scooted by beaches and harbors, all the while snapping very quick photos. You also get a true sense of the city’s maritime side. Plus, you know, being on a Segway just makes it feel that bit cooler than walking! You can easily take in the scenery, very unobstructed. Very calming indeed.

What You Need to Know Before You Go

Segway Tour Tips

Thinking of booking this trip? There are just a few pieces of advice you will likely find helpful. First of all, check the weather. Seriously, a little bit of sunshine makes all the difference. Wear clothing that feels easy and very flat shoes – you are going to be standing for a while. Very often, sunscreen is advisable, more or less year-round. If you have stuff with you, small backpacks are typically okay, yet huge bags are just a bother. I almost found out the complicated way that the tours are actually very popular, mostly during peak season, so perhaps book early. Do bring a camera! You do not want to pass up photo opportunities.
