These, sort of, aren’t just any places; they tend to be spots that have some character or, in a way, a bit of a local following. So, you might find yourself trying anything, right, from Maryland crab cakes (a, very, must-try) to some, literally, homemade ice cream. It’s all, very, presented with tidbits about the food, the establishment, and maybe, arguably, some history of Ocean City thrown in there.
My Personal Experience: The Good Bites
Right, so, my tour started, alright, right on the boardwalk on a beautiful afternoon. That is, the weather was pretty nice, and there was just a buzz in the air. Our guide was super cheerful and, very, seemed pretty clued up on all things Ocean City.
The Stops
The tour, mostly, included a mix of spots. So, there was, basically, a classic seafood joint, a cute little candy shop, and, almost, this new deli place that I had never heard of. The crab cake at the seafood place was just, like, delicious—pretty flavorful, very little filler, and a nice size too it’s almost. That, really, was, maybe, the best bite of the day.
Next, there was, in a way, this candy shop. That stop was fun; that is, we got to try some, literally, saltwater taffy and hear about how it’s made. Interesting, arguably, but the candy was really sweet, and not too, like, my thing for real.
Now, the deli – that was, more or less, a highlight, really. They were serving up some sandwiches and the ingredients just taste great. That, surprisingly, ended up being, you know, one of my favorite tastes from our stops; maybe, just what I was looking for at that moment.
The Not-So-Good Bites
As much as I enjoyed some parts, some others fell kinda flat. So, there was, really, this pizza place that was pretty well rated. The, sort of, slice we got was, honestly, pretty average—nothing too memorable, very really.
The, like, other issue was the pacing. That is, sometimes, we were kinda rushed. I would’ve liked a couple more minutes to, sort of, just enjoy the food without, you know, feeling like I needed to keep up.
Things to Consider Before Booking
Dietary Needs
Right, so, it’s super important to make, kinda, sure the tour can accommodate any dietary restrictions you have. Call and find out whether or not, you know, there are options if you’re vegetarian, gluten-free, or have any serious food allergies. Some tours, very apparently, are much more flexible than others.
The Weather
It’s almost, definitely, a walking tour. Check the weather forecast before you go. You will definitely not have a lot of fun if the weather doesn’t go your way, I mean that too it’s almost. If, that is, it looks like rain or it will be too cold, you might want to push the tour to another day.
Group Size
Try to, actually, find out how large the group is going to be. If you can find this out, very do so. A, pretty, smaller group can, literally, mean a much more personal experience, as well as, that is, a bit easier to ask questions and chat with the guide.
Is the Ocean City Foodie Tour Worth It?
The big question, basically, is it worth it? Here’s, arguably, a breakdown:
- The Variety: You do get, really, a taste of several different establishments. It’s, you know, like, a good way to discover some new places that you, honestly, might want to come back to again.

Do some comparison shopping, actually, before you put any money down. If the goal of that tour, right, is to replace lunch, or supper it is likely that it might not do that. If, on the other hand, the goal is to taste things from a few places then that will do the trick.
