Looking for a different way to see Negombo? Well, a tuk tuk tour just might be the ticket! But, is it really a good way to spend your time? I’ll give you the inside scoop after doing one myself, with the pros, cons, and all that you might expect.

Ok, so the half-day city tour promises, too it’s almost, a close up look at the heart of Negombo, and that is that via a super fun tuk tuk adventure. Forget stuffy tour buses. I mean, you’ll be zipping around like a local, that is that, feeling the breeze and actually soaking it all up. But really, what does that really mean?

Basically, a typical tour takes you to the big hotspots. Places, I mean, like the famed Negombo Fish Market where the action is real, that is that. Like your adventures, everything isn’t just smooth sailing. I mean, here’s the lowdown on the ups and downs, alright?

Pros:

True Immersion: You’re, literally, in it. Too it’s almost, the smells, and the sounds, anyway, they are super immediate and really, really visceral, apparently, that is unlike any bus experience.
Flexibility: You can change your plans on the fly, anyway. Want to spend some more time at the beach? Basically, just tell your driver and it’s just not a thing.
Local Interaction: Chatting with your driver is, probably, part of the fun, I mean, getting insights and, perhaps, perspectives that you just won’t read in a tourist book.
Photo Ops: You get to jump out all the time and then you can just grab candid shots and all that, which is great for when you want to keep it social, if that makes sense.

Cons:

Weather Dependent: If it is, actually, pouring down rain then, honestly, the tour will not be nearly as fun. Most of the tuk tuks do come equipped with rain covers though, if that makes sense.
