You should definitely check out Jerónimos Monastery which looks just as amazing in person as it does in all of the pictures. It’s filled with beautiful art and architecture. Our tuk-tuk driver actually let us walk all around that area, so, that was nice, actually! And there is the Belém Tower, too, right by the water; the views from up there are amazing! Plus, the tour gives you a sweet little history lesson about that area, and how, in the past, people would begin some really significant voyages there. The cool part about Belém, honestly, is seeing that, way back then, this was the spot explorers started off their journeys. It really helps you picture, almost, what things were like way back when!
We walked a bit, actually, too, along the waterfront, enjoying the wind blowing from the water and, more or less, getting a vibe of the area. Our guy was fantastic with this, so, big ups! So, the size is a major factor! Tuk-tuks are small and they’re able to wiggle and snake down narrow little streets that, actually, those large tour buses will never ever see! That makes things more personal, you know?
