What’s the Big Deal? An Overview of the Tour

Right, so what does this tour even entail? Actually, it’s typically a full-day adventure that gets you away, very far away that is, from the urban buzz of Seoul, all the way over to the Legoland Korea Resort in Chuncheon. We think that Legoland is super for families, particularly those that are visiting with kids between, like, say, 2 and 12 years of age. But we’re talking about so much more, not just the regular Legoland park stuff here! Arguably, you get two extra dollops of fun that include whizzing down a hill on a luge, which is, by the way, very exhilarating, and pedaling along scenic railway tracks on a rail bike. Seems like quite the jam-packed day, honestly.

The Luge Experience: Racing Downhill

OK, the luge bit! Oh boy, basically, this was one of the biggest highlights for us. Anyway, you get geared up with a helmet, receive a, like, very quick safety briefing, and then you get to hop on a luge cart. Right, then you’re pulled up to the top of the hill. Alright, the track, it usually isn’t very long, so to be honest you’ll zoom down, and that’s where the excitement kicks in. It is that easy. The carts are pretty intuitive to control; actually you just pull back on the handles to brake and push forward to accelerate. In a way, it is a little bit similar to go-karting, except there is no engine and you’re relying, like your childhood dreams told you, on gravity! Seriously, for that brief minute or two, it’s absolutely exhilarating, a little bit breathtaking, and surprisingly thrilling. It is quite an activity for both youngsters and adults. We definitely found our inner kid screaming somewhere there!

Rail Bike Adventure: Pedaling Through Scenery

After that, so we jumped off the luge and went for the Rail Bike! Basically, this is a less intense activity, but, actually, it is something that delivers a totally different type of enjoyment. Your entire family piles onto a rail bike, and as a matter of fact you pedal along disused railway tracks. So, now this part of Korea can really deliver! You’ll be chugging and clanging over old bridges, actually passing through tunnels, and riding past awesome, really awesome open countryside. Alright, for anyone not aware, as a matter of fact it’s part of the global chain of theme parks centered around the Lego brand, so definitely if you are a fan of Lego or if your children love Lego, it is the destination to be at. As a matter of fact, Legoland Korea boasts an array of rides, shows, and attractions all constructed using those little, familiar plastic bricks. Anyway, there are different themed zones, like Lego City, Pirate Shores, and Ninjago, each delivering unique things to see and do. Young kids especially adore the rides geared to them, and there are plenty of play areas. If you want something even more tangible, maybe, you can always admire the detailed Lego models on display. Right, if you’ve got kids with you, don’t expect a totally smooth or leisurely pace! You may find yourself spending the majority of your visit queueing, but the kiddos love the attractions when they come around!

Getting There and Around: The Logistics

Alright, when you are coming all the way from Seoul, getting there basically is part of the adventure. Usually, tour packages provide convenient transport. So, what they usually do is get you on a bus or van directly from your hotel or a central meeting point in Seoul. Right, the journey time may be a little extended, but so it really depends on traffic conditions! Typically, it takes about 1.5 to 2 hours each way. In that case you can catch up on sleep on the bus, or maybe simply watch a movie, so we think it isn’t too painful. Also, with all the transport bits already looked after, anyway you won’t have to deal with taking public transportation and messing around with train schedules. The tour, it often includes admission tickets to all the attractions. That can actually save a whole lot of queuing once you arrive, like you may find is usually the case otherwise!

Things to Consider: Making the Most of Your Day

If you want the trip to run very smoothly, then maybe just take some factors into account. Alright, the crowds: Legoland is popular. Basically, during weekends, actually school holidays and, like your experience, any type of special event you could find long lines. Well, basically try to go during a weekday in the spring or fall so that you can get a better experience. The weather also matters; if there are monsoons then some outdoor attractions actually could close, but it is not the most usual circumstance. Right, pack snacks, and carry water especially if you have fussy youngsters. Pack sun protection, like sunscreen, a hat, and sunglasses if it’s expected to be a scorching day. As a matter of fact, wear comfortable walking shoes. Right, the park involves quite a lot of standing and walking around, just so you know!

Is it Worth It?: Weighing the Pros and Cons

If your loved ones just love Lego and enjoy some unique, fun experiences, definitely this trip, in my experience, may pay out! Now let’s weigh some pros and cons quickly. Pros: easy transport from Seoul, a blend of fun, a range of things that most visitors could appreciate. Also, it can be really easy for a big family when tickets are all there from the start. Some of the Cons are: it’s a bit extended in journey terms; it may get jam-packed during height season times; the attractions at some periods of the calendar are just not fully open.
