Ica & Nazca Tour Review: Full Day Archaeological Adventure
Okay, so you are pondering a day trip to Ica and Nazca, maybe to soak up some ancient Peruvian history, or like your eye got caught by the Nazca Lines, right? That sounds like something pretty fantastic. I mean, seeing these massive geoglyphs that have lasted for hundreds of years is just too cool. This is my experience on the “From Ica Full Day Archaeological Tour in Nazca”, that will hopefully give you, very like your planning to, a feel of what the adventure can really hold for you.
Early Start & Scenic Drive
Okay, so get ready for an early rise, which actually can be a good thing, at the end of the day. The tour often kicks off super early, really around 6 AM-ish, right? This ensures you get to Nazca with sufficient time to check everything out. The drive from Ica to Nazca is like, nearly three to four hours, more or less, and it cuts through some of the desert terrain you could imagine. Actually, anyway you will see that it starts getting gorgeous.
There are these moments when you can see these shifting sand dunes; also, just watching the sun rise over them too. It’s nice for, I would say your Instagram, but much nicer if you just actually soak it in and try to enjoy the calm of the pre-dawn hours, in fact. Anyway, at the end of the day I’d advise you to bring a book, maybe download a podcast, you know for when you are not gawking at the outdoors, for instance. Seriously, anyway, just kick back and just chill before the excitement is about to start.
Nazca Lines Flight: What To Expect
Basically, the highlight of the trip really is flying over the Nazca Lines, more or less! Anyway, after arriving in Nazca, basically you’re transferred to the airport, right? What happens when you arrive at the airport?, Well it is what it is. Prepare for a little wait, and I mean airport vibes that could be a bit like, very old school or something. The planes tend to be small; pretty much seat, basically around, say like four to six passengers to make sure basically everyone gets a pretty great view. Anyway, it seems to depend on who you booked with.
During the flight, which is quite short actually, somewhere close to about 30-40 minutes, the pilot will circle around each of the key figures so, too it’s almost, everyone on either side of the plane can, basically see them very clearly. The thing is though; if you get airsick pretty easily, you will want to seriously consider some medication before you board, and so on. Those turns can be a bit much for a sensitive stomach, just a little.
Even if the ride gets rocky, which it may do, witnessing those ancient geoglyphs from the air—the hummingbird, the monkey, the spider— it’s basically breath taking, really. Each figure seems to jump out of the desert floor, which is also incredible. To be able to get a sense of how gigantic they are is hard to understand. That these designs created maybe 2,000 years prior are actually still visible now is something that makes you want to really just reflect. The cost of the flight by the way, is frequently excluded from the standard tour package, and can, maybe be something that gets to you and causes unpleasant surprises, so that you just watch out for. Usually the extra costs tends to be near USD 100-150.
Exploring the Nazca Region: More Than Just Lines
The tour is often, anyway after the aerial views, has, pretty much includes stops to further local archaeological places so too its almost like, you can get a larger feel, anyway. Tambo Colorado is, basically what I think to be, an adobe complex, actually which is preserved extremely well, which can show you Nazca culture, like your way of life. Then, seriously speaking, are the Cantalloc Aqueducts, basically its what I think is like an old underground water system still is, or like nearly still, in use. Which is quite brilliant.
What I will say is that the time is really quite short that is allocated to these sites so that, do not actually think of digging very deep, and stuff. They can just very like your stop over to see these cool, more or less structures which is cool. If I could advise of one thing I’d say take loads of water so that, desert exploration is, very dry.
Ica Highlights: Huacachina Oasis
What happens next, is that a large portion of tours take you back to Ica so that, to, I think is just see the Oasis, at the end of the day! Huacachina is quite something you just want to remember when coming over to Peru. Which are these sand dunes towering around a small lagoon, by the way it offers a stark or clear contrast to what goes before. Most operators there will include in the trip a dune buggy and sandboarding expedition.
It sounds like this may not be of your choice of things you do to relax then don’t choose to engage, or do so and see what is about to come! Riding is basically going to be on some enormous dunes in a dune buggy, that for all it seems a little dangerous, and that makes it rather amazing too. And also, so that for the fun part!, trying to sled down it at high speeds is just a big fun!. If any part of this sounds unappealing just let the operator know so that, you, pretty much, don’t, or maybe they could drop you off for some chilling in a nearby cafe.
The tour might have visits on at a local vineyard or pisco distillery; like your going to test out the local flavors!. I guess that depending on, maybe what itinerary is you pick. This break gives you chance to, you can chill a bit and maybe enjoy how warm or balmy things get, and also, I guess maybe have some photo shoots if you want!. Very importantly, to get you the best experience just check that this part of any planned trips meet all of you’re expectations.
What to Bring & Consider
Alright, anyway when you want to, I think is get set on Ica and Nazca full day journey, at the end of the day just give some good think and about how you want to enjoy these tips!:
- Sun Protection: Seriously put sunscreen in place to shield the glare, which might hurt, and your sun glasses!.
- Layered Clothing: Anyway think over clothes, even the desert may be cold on those mornings then boil over around the middle!.
- Motion Sickness Remedies: Make sure motion sickness medication gets a look into if airborne moves maybe, will trigger uneasiness on you.
- Snacks and Water: Maybe have enough and bring loads so that, from keeping energy higher to hydration!.
- Cash: Like your coming somewhere, where admission is cash or it may suit it perfectly to acquire some small souvenirs that the shops stock.
In that this day may have, maybe, its ups along that maybe its downsides in travel; from what could start into something, you were going for maybe! The whole Ica as in Nazca tour mixes perfectly those old ancient wonders with today’s, that will fill with enjoyment that I guess it offers!. Okay, so for, or on, this reason you must have that day so that, is one you get the enjoyment so you maybe remember it fondly from those South Peru things going for it so like the enjoyment can start happening!
There is I guess a number of travelers, who have stated enjoyment during flights, or while in the cultural tours, like it would need little time management. These may not ruin stuff just ensure some smooth, so in these travels which gets it for you!. It helps those travels I just said and for the memories!.
