Planning a trip from Ho Chi Minh City to the Mekong Delta? So, you’re thinking about the three-day tour that hits Cai Be, Cai Rang floating market, and the Tra Su cajuput forest, too it’s almost certainly a classic for a reason. Day one started fairly early, which arguably you expect with most tours. The drive from Ho Chi Minh City to Cai Be took a handful of hours, and at the end you end up watching the scenery swap from cityscapes to green rice paddies that look nice to be in. First impressions of Cai Be floating market? I would say it might not be as full of action as what some pictures present. Still, watching the boats sell fruit, vegetables and very other goods gives you a glimpse of the river way of life, as I understand it. Plus, sampling local goodies from one of the boats has potential to add a sweet spot to it.

After the market, you typically glide into some local workshops. Anyway, we checked out how they make coconut candy and rice paper, in that it sounds touristy but you sort of get an authentic view of some small industries, arguably. Plus, I would have to point out that the coconut candy tasted pretty alright fresh from the source. Day 2: Cai Rang Floating Market & Can Tho

Day three centered around Tra Su Cajuput Forest, pretty far from the previous destinations. Tra Su stands kind of distinguished to me for its special environment, in that you typically take a motorized boat into the center and switch to a smaller sampan to cruise through the narrow waterways. Basically the experience could possibly take your breath away. Everything green with a variety of birds. Seriously though, this can feel like getting into an environment somewhere.

The stillness gets only subtly damaged with bird song. I think it would be hard to capture it properly using words. On top of this there were platforms erected in order for tourists to see wide angles of the area. And by then it had gotten really enjoyable! Afterwards we started heading back towards Ho Chi Minh, alright signaling pretty much the completion of the three-day stint. This very felt nice following my encounter in this area even with long trips!

Accommodation and Food: What to Expect

As I consider it, most of the tour usually provides stays in small hotels. My hotel happened to be sufficient. Though it did little more then get the basics accomplished. If you want additional options maybe book yourself into fancier lodgings. Generally Vietnam lodgings can offer something!
