Which really made a big difference, actually. What also made the tour great was that our guide pointed out, well pointed out details that I might have missed if I were walking. Or, and stuff just taking the bus. You know, the small architectural details, the hidden courtyards, those little stories that, in a way bring a place to life. All in all, you may want to experience what I experienced.

The Guide and Group Dynamics

Our guide, his name was Carlos, he, very he was such a star. He was, as I was saying both friendly and knowledgeable, so too it was really clear that he loved Barcelona, which made the tour that much better, actually. He had this, almost endless supply of information about the city’s history, architecture, and culture. He also made sure, actually everyone in the group felt included. He’s pretty good at managing the group dynamic, actually.

Our group had around eight people, which, in some respects felt like a pretty good size. Not too big that you get lost in the crowd, yet large enough that there’s a fun group vibe. The pace? Covering a lot of ground without tiring yourself out, in some respects it’s great, especially if you’re short on time. Secondly, actually I thought the guides were brilliant. They were very knowledgeable, helpful, and genuinely enthusiastic about sharing the city, which it made a difference.

The Segways? Well, in some respects they were a unique and fun way to see the sights, which added that certain something to the, actually entire experience. Also, I thought that the routes were smartly planned, they managed to hit the main attractions while avoiding the, very, I mean very big crowds. But, and I mean here comes the “but,” the tour isn’t cheap, so too it’s likely that it’ll cost a bit. You may want to keep it in mind if you’re backpacking or are looking to keep an eye on the pennies. Also, while the Segways are easy to use, I felt, well I felt a little self-conscious at first. And like wobbling around in front of other tourists (but very, it soon wore off!). More so that because Park Güell isn’t fully accessible by Segway, actually I would have really loved to have spent a little longer there. Other than that, really awesome.
