Anyway, the meeting point was pretty easy to find, actually in Corralejo. Too it was almost that it began there. Anyway we piled into, like, a comfy van, and off we drove towards the central part of the island. On the way there, that guide, he’s called Miguel, I think, was actually sharing, as a matter of fact, information about Fuerteventura’s volcanic history. Things like the unique ecosystem it has and the culture too, obviously. This got everyone in the mood, too it filled them with plenty of excitement for what would actually come next.

As a matter of fact, once we arrived at the base of the volcano, the hike kind of began gently enough. Which gave everyone chance to, like, soak in the, you know, scenery. As I was saying, the path can get just a little rocky in some places. That, that could be something worth thinking about. I mean for people who, right, mightn’t be totally used to hiking. Anyway the views, right from the start, are totally worth the, like, effort though. It’s not too long before you’re looking out, in fact, at a landscape stretching out seemingly for miles and miles. A sort of panorama. In that case, once we started climbing higher, so the landscape began changing. Becoming very obviously more dramatic, is that craggy volcanic rock formations are literally popping out everywhere. I remember someone, as a matter of fact, saying it felt as if we were, like, on another planet.

This kind of gives everything a feel that is somehow, otherworldly.

Very quickly, that very guide showed us how, typically, to adjust our eyes to, like, see better in the low light. Anyway this made it much easier to actually pick out things like, by the way, the shapes of the distant volcanoes and the awesome coastline. Everyone seemed to be incredibly quiet, almost in some type of silent admiration for the moon’s simple beauty. You sort of sense it’s beauty that is, typically, a little rough.

That quiet walk under the moonlight actually gave me, anyway, so much time just to, right, reflect on the fantastic sights I’d seen. I also loved the complete silence.
