The Thrill of Flying Ravana Adventure Park

Flying Ravana Adventure Park

So, first things first, the Ella Zipline is run by Flying Ravana Adventure Park. This park has kind of gained itself, seemingly, something of a reputation for providing safe but definitely thrilling outdoor activities. Anyway, setting off on the zipline starts with a safety briefing which, alright, it’s pretty thorough, and that does help to ease any kind of nerves you might actually have. We went through all of the equipment checks, too, and then we were, at long last, clipped in. Pretty soon after that, we were ready to go. It’s pretty comforting, as a matter of fact, seeing how the staff places an emphasis on safety procedures; clearly that’s always a good sign. This is quite key, especially if you’re not too keen on heights, you know.

Actually, the zipline itself stretches over two lines. This does give you two different perspectives and, in some respects, it means more air time. Now, what’s it like? Well, as you launch off the platform, too, you get a really, really intense rush of adrenaline, no joke. Seemingly, suddenly you are soaring above, like your are a bit of a bird. Then you’ll have pretty stunning views of the surrounding landscapes right there at your feet. That said, that initial thrill quickly turns into something, almost, of a peaceful experience, and you can kind of appreciate the beauty of Ella’s hills without actually trying. This makes the zipline a mix, basically, of a thrill ride combined with a sightseeing excursion.

Breathtaking Views of Mini Adam’s Peak

Mini Adam's Peak Ella

Clearly, one of the things that make this zipline very different, perhaps, is the view you have of Mini Adam’s Peak. This small but, arguably, noticeable peak is so popular with hikers. Honestly though, viewing it from the air, zipping across, can give you just a little something quite special, and just a bit unique to your Ella experience, perhaps. Basically, it’s as though you get a very special look. I mean, sure, that might sound like sales talk, but honestly that’s what I felt. Of course, it is nice being able to see this landscape from above. You can see the rolling green hills as they stretch out beneath you, and so they’re all a bit lush. It really is almost like, sometimes, seeing the very best of Sri Lanka’s natural beauty. So yeah, this is a definite bonus if you want some gorgeous pictures.

You know, arguably, if the timing is spot on and the weather is playing nice, and frankly Ella’s weather can be unpredictable, you could, arguably, zip line through the air while the rising or setting sun does paint the sky, that too will give you some remarkable views. Very many travelers who have brought a camera that they’ve strapped down super tight to keep safe when they went ziplining, came out of it with photographs which, well, they looked pretty unbelievable to be honest. Clearly, capturing Mini Adam’s Peak from that angle is an achievement you really can boast about online!
