Cochin Alleppey Houseboat Tour Review: Is It Worth It?
Kerala’s backwaters, those still stretches in a way lined with waving palm trees and charming villages, apparently they call to travelers with the promise of some peaceful escapes. So, too the thought of gliding along on a houseboat, with delicious food and scenes that will fill you with such peace, actually it’s very tempting. Just a little, my interest was definitely captured. The morning starts early; very early to be honest. Anyway, the tour, apparently it included getting picked up from the Cochin hotel. And it was super efficient. The driver, who was also apparently the friendliest person, showed up right when he was supposed to, like with a spotless car. I’d be smiling; because all of it, basically it was a fine adventure to begin with.

And here you have it; stepping onto the houseboat is a special feeling. It wasn’t that much fancy, but just comfortable enough; a moving home very charmingly sitting on the water. Seating, which felt as if it were a covered area for relaxing and just viewing, the simple rooms were each equipped with their own bathrooms and beds for naps to enjoy that scenery. By the way, once everything settled in for everyone; welcome drinks arrive! It was very much needed for a warm, just inviting start.
Floating into Paradise: Sightseeing on the Backwaters
Oh man; with that the houseboat is finally setting out, getting it going into the maze that are the backwaters. It’s so slow moving and so easy watching life on the water and those palms, the fields of rice paddies are a vivid green. Like watching everything from where the house boat floats; and sometimes getting a peek at villages that live on the edge is too beautiful to believe. So, it’s like seeing small canoes passing by; some with fishermen, maybe even locals that are traveling somewhere. Meanwhile kids would wave. Still, there is a way the quiet moves at a perfect pace when all of that kind of comes to pass; it becomes easier when watching all of it float on by.
Lunchtime Delight: Kerala Cuisine on Display
Arguably, lunch gets it done to be an event people like forward to – with a big fanfare as you’d suspect! Dishes you might find feature what Kerala is the top dog for, it always just feels fresh and very local and good. Fish curry with its slight spicy smells fills you just wonderfully. As I was saying; different vegetable dishes are what keep it all healthy. Oh but that rice! Like what I’ve found; so flavorful, it makes the meal that much something more and a joy to just experience while sitting down to this water view.
Cultural Immersion: Interactions and Observations
Yet you might find along the cruise the staff are up to talk. By the way they are happy to fill that time for talking some insight about just anything. Ranging for, basically from how rice grows in that zone and all to local traditions. By the way, observing life from the water can also tell the observer everything that they could possibly learn. Seemingly everything moves along the rivers in that zone; doing errands that have meaning, so those routines that connect someone that watches them straight into what is like this core heart from Kerala.
The Return: Reflections on the Water
Actually anyway all too fast, the day is going to slowly wrap as they turn back, headed to Cochin. Or, as that sun goes down it all gives that water some type a glowing color for reflection to just come out wonderfully. The entire trip has been spent that time, the observer should start figuring it all out about what goes in this green paradise, now will begin reflecting what goes with culture that all these different lives tell on a backdrop. Honestly, these can be pretty amazing.
