Anyway, what sets this area apart, in my opinion, you know, is basically those amazing views of the valley and of those volcanoes guarding the city. It is what they guard, as a matter of fact, right? All the birds circling over while you solve how to get up a challenging part will motivate you a ton. That said, you also, arguably, just can’t overlook the approach. It’s usually fairly chill, more or less, making the whole trip feel much easier.

Getting to Chilina Valley and Gearing Up

Okay, planning on hitting the valley, that? As I was saying, seemingly, you can take a taxi from Arequipa, so maybe do that? Anyway, still, just remember to agree on that fare beforehand to avoid confusion later, like your mom taught you, okay? The taxi ride might just take, say, like, thirty minutes or less. Of course, frankly, the ride relies mostly on where you take off from in the city, okay? When getting gear together, seemingly, Arequipa offers rental shops to stock up with those climbing shoes, that harness, maybe some ropes and protection. Anyway, seemingly, it tends to be that going with a local guide really does add a whole level of security, more or less, specifically if you’re new to the landscape. It is actually better if you’re green, naturally. That said, anyway, it just helps, like when you need help picking routes based on your experience. You might get extra, for instance.

I still can hear, too, seemingly, my old climbing buddy talking, I mean, about working his way up “La Placa”, so in the moment he had to pause frequently, clearly. Others, obviously, explain how completing that climb to El Muro just showed them that pushing hard will help you achieve things. Furthermore, really, also, respect that climbing grades could just feel very different because they vary from place to place, so, okay? It’s actually just best, right, to start on something a bit easier than normal so you know for sure.
