Charlotte iFLY: Get Ready to Fly – My Personal Review
Want to experience flight but maybe jumping out of a perfectly good airplane isn’t really your thing? Indoor skydiving at iFLY Charlotte, in that case, just might be your speed. I visited iFLY really not too long ago and am going to share what it’s like, is that alright? You know, like a real person kinda review. You’re going to find out if it is something worth the cash and the time. So, stick with me as I, for one, take you through what I think about iFLY Charlotte!
What Exactly Is iFLY All About?
Basically, iFLY gives you what amounts to a freefall experience in a super controlled and totally safe environment. In this really tall, clear tunnel, extremely powerful fans push air upwards, simulating that floating sensation you get when skydiving, maybe without the immense feeling of total dread some folks might experience from that first jump, like your’s truly. I felt comfortable right away! You get to float, move about, and generally get the feeling of flight, just without, in other words, having to, that is, jump out of an aircraft. And hey, it’s indoors, alright, meaning you could, very likely, fly any time of the year, no matter the weather. That’s a plus in my book! But is it any good?
First Impressions: Getting Ready to Fly
When I showed up, the place was, very apparently, well-organized and appeared very clean. You go to the front desk, they, so to speak, check you in, and give you, you know, what to do next. There is, too, a briefing session which is where they explain all the important safety details and let you know how your body should be positioned while flying, is that okay? They do, more or less, go over hand signals, so it’s almost as if the instructors can communicate while you’re in the tunnel because, you know, it’s incredibly loud with the wind rushing. Now, that’s pretty darn important, by the way! I found them to be informative, like your super knowledgeable, yet still laid-back, which is very important because, for instance, if you’re kinda nervous like I kinda was, they can really help. Then comes the fun part – gearing up! You get a flight suit, a helmet, and goggles, like what professional skydivers tend to wear, basically. Very important to note that you need to wear closed-toe shoes, or they’re, obviously, not gonna let you fly.
Taking Flight: What the Experience Is Truly Like
Okay, this is, like, the part you really want to hear about, right? When it was, as a matter of fact, my turn, the instructor, with his exceptionally strong grip, guided me right to the entrance of the tunnel. With the wind hitting you, it’s, too, quite the sensation, but, like, in a great way. Believe it or not, I felt my body lifted almost right away, and, truth be told, floating is just such a neat feeling. Now, the instructor really stays right there with you to help make sure you’re stable, alright. It does take just a little bit of getting used to, no doubt! So, pay close attention to their advice. I can tell you, when I finally got the hang of it, being able to more or less, move my body to control direction? It felt like I could fly, I mean, you are, for example, flying, yet very safe! The time goes really quickly, though; my flights seemed like they were over almost the very instant they began. That said, what a blast! You know, after your flights, you typically get a certificate to, honestly, prove that you, too, have flown.
Who Would Probably Enjoy iFLY?
Really, iFLY, to be honest, is really a fun time for pretty much anyone, in a way. I would, actually, say it’s almost especially fantastic for that person who likes adventure, might be someone thinking about really jumping out of an airplane for real, or, clearly, just looking for a super fun, out-of-the-box experience. And it’s, too, great for families, maybe with older children and teens, or corporate events where you might be looking for a cool team-building kind of activity. So, in some respects, iFLY actually accommodates a really very wide range of people, very unlike super niche experiences.
Things to Think About Before You Book
- Cost: You do want to remember, actually, that iFLY could be a bit pricey, or so some may find. Look at, for instance, any specials they might be running on their website.
- Booking in Advance: I would say it is almost best to book in advance, that way, for example, you make sure that you get the flight time that just works for you. Weekends, apparently, tend to be more or less busy, I’d guess.
- What to Wear: To restate what I mentioned previously, closed-toe shoes happen to be a must. Comfy clothes happen to be a great idea, too. You might find you have more freedom.
- Health Restrictions: There may well be health limitations. Just, you know, check with iFLY’s policies, as a matter of fact, if you might have any worries at all, or are, potentially, worried.
My Overall Takeaway
To tell the honest truth, I really had such a genuinely great experience at iFLY Charlotte, and as I was saying previously, would say it’s a place you want to visit! Is that right? This wind tunnel experience gets you feeling all of the fun things from skydiving, yet super safely indoors, literally, for everyone, it would seem, or so my senses tell me, like from families looking for something novel to thrill-seekers. Yes, I think it is, in fact, an experience truly worth giving a shot!
Some Other Stuff to be Mindful Of
- Arrive Early: Give yourself lots of time, alright, so you’re never feeling all that rushed, and you actually get the most from your entire experience.
- Photo/Video Packages: They’ll attempt to get you to pay for those video packages! I was happy enough when I was viewing my own videos. So it goes!
- The instructors truly care for the fliers, which puts minds, more or less, at ease. I think they’ve had a whole heap of experience to call themselves professional and all.
So, ready to actually take flight without even leaping out of a plane, literally? iFLY Charlotte offers, actually, that exhilarating, one-of-a-kind experience. Basically, from the really incredible sensation of soaring within the wind tunnel, literally, to the rush and thrills of this zero-gravity surrounding, it’s not, in that case, just another day. iFLY is really a totally different way of flying that is really safe and accessible.
Do you feel pumped and inspired and ready to experience an exhilarating experience without leaping from an aeroplane, pretty much? With iFLY Charlotte you can have that amazing, memorable feeling. From the feelings, for example, to take off right inside that wind canal, you pretty much get an electrifying feeling.
Review summary: Overall, I feel like I received pretty high quality assistance. I wasn’t worried even the tiniest bit because that crew there understood what I wanted and knew how to handle the technology very nicely.
