Burj Al Arab: Is Parasailing & Ice Cream Worth It? A Review

The Burj Al Arab in Dubai. So, it’s basically one of those buildings that just screams, “I’m rich!” Its sail-shaped structure juts, that it rises right out of the Arabian Gulf. You’ve seen those photos, is that gold leaf shimmering, fountains dancing and, yet a whole lot of “wow.” But beyond the glitz and glamour, does taking the plunge and going parasailing near this icon and then grabbing some ice cream actually live up to the hype? Well, I wanted to know too, really. Here is what I learned.

Parasailing with a View: What’s It Really Like?

Parasailing Dubai Skyline

Okay, first off, let’s get something clear: parasailing anywhere can be a blast. Is that you’re floating way up high, with the wind in your face, everything looking smaller down below? That feeling is amazing, isn’t it? Now, throw the Burj Al Arab into the background. Well, then things get a bit more interesting, I suppose. Very interesting, I think.

Many operators offer parasailing experiences close to the Burj Al Arab, right that these vary quite a bit. We are talking, in a way, about the duration of the flight, how high you go, and even the size of the boat. Be sure to shop around and read those fine print details. You want a smooth experience, or maybe that is what you are going for.

The Experience Itself: Picture this. You’re getting strapped into a harness. The boat is speeding up, rather that the chute is catching the wind. Next thing you know, is that you’re lifting off, very slowly. Slowly at first, actually.

You rise higher and higher, or perhaps Dubai stretches out before you in all its glory. There is that shimmering skyline, and way, way below, I suppose you have the turquoise waters. And there, like your own personal landmark, it’s the Burj Al Arab, gleaming in the sunlight. If you happen to be a person with some camera skills then maybe you can bring one up there. It may make you famous if you have a knack for catching some cool pictures. But even if you can’t you will have great memories.

But let’s be frank here, okay? That it’s not just about the building. It’s about the whole panorama. It really is that you are seeing the Palm Jumeirah, or perhaps the World Islands off in the distance. You’ll see that the whole coastline is a sight, that it’s just awesome. The whole entire world can look like a postcard.

Is It Worth the Cost? Now for the big question: does the price match the pleasure? Parasailing near the Burj Al Arab, arguably, it could be costing you more than doing it somewhere else. You are paying a premium, as a matter of fact, for the location. You’re paying extra, too.

If having that iconic hotel in your photos and the general bragging rights are important to you, it may be worth that additional cost. On the other hand, arguably, if you are mainly interested in the thrill of parasailing, you might find a cheaper spot that gives a great ride with still-pretty awesome views.

The Allure of the Burj Al Arab Ice Cream

Burj Al Arab Ice Cream

Okay, so you have experienced the parasailing, and actually you are back on dry land. Now you hear there’s also some super fancy ice cream, and very, very, really you should find some, is that right? Maybe you are thinking: “Ice cream, that’s something everyone knows! But how special could it be, though, right?” Oh, but it’s The Burj Al Arab ice cream, okay? And here is what makes it… a thing.

The Burj Al Arab has numerous dining spots, but it tends to be “Scoop,” or something similar, that draws the most interest in our ice cream craving situation. What they did there, is they really cranked things up, slightly they added unusual ingredients. Imagine this, is that maybe you find some flecks of 23-carat gold leaf, perhaps truffles. Yes, there are truffles in your ice cream.

It tastes great, really, maybe that’s the goal. To create something that is wildly over-the-top. So it looks stunning and provides an “I can’t believe this!” kind of experience.

A Culinary Souvenir? To buy one of those ice creams can be a bit pricey, is that they are expensive. Think, you know, dinner-for-two kind of expensive. So, is it only about the flavor? No. Actually, It’s about the story you get to tell.

Basically, you are getting a story here. Is that you aren’t just consuming frozen dairy deliciousness, so you are getting something to take a photo with. Very possibly something that you can remember for a while. Did you visit Dubai and NOT have that crazy gold ice cream? As a matter of fact, you can’t let that happen.

Alternatives to the Splurge: Let’s say your bank account is weeping, just that you still love treats. You might look into great ice cream places elsewhere in Dubai. In some respects, there are plenty of high-end dessert spots. So you may discover interesting and artistic ice cream without maxing out your credit card, possibly.

Planning Your Burj Al Arab Adventure: Tips and Considerations

Dubai Luxury Travel

Okay, is that you are starting to like your adventure? If you do, I suppose there are a couple of points to keep in mind so it all comes together properly.

Booking in Advance: With parasailing, clearly you want to secure your slot. Is that you need to check availability. Well, this is important particularly during peak travel times in Dubai. So look for companies that have solid reviews and perhaps a safety record too. Check them out beforehand. Take your time, in other words. Look for deals, right? Perhaps there is a discount to be found. Or if you make too much fuss about this you are making some calls anyway, right, before the trip to confirm details. Especially in regards to cancellation policies. You need to see whether or not bad weather interferes with parasailing, okay?

Access and Reservations: To just wander inside the Burj Al Arab is very much a no-no. It’s mainly for hotel guests. This is also in part for diners with confirmed reservations. It means planning, anyway, if you want that ice cream. Check if reservations are vital, even for “Scoop,” I would argue. Booking can save you headaches later, arguably. Especially on busy days.

Dress Code: The Burj Al Arab projects, more or less it projects an image, clearly, right? Very clearly. Is that, I am just saying, maybe dressing “appropriately” isn’t always required. Some locations have this rule. In a way, do not wear your swim trunks or maybe an old t-shirt, even for ice cream, right? At least pack something. Just in case.

Making the Most of Your Dubai Trip

Things to do in Dubai

Burj Al Arab parasailing and ice cream can be part of a bigger Dubai experience. In the same way, Dubai has some incredible stuff, too, to see and to do.

Combine Activities: Think about linking your parasailing with other water sports activities in Dubai. You might be jet skiing, I don’t know. Some of the firms are throwing them together in one price anyway. They are just doing it to save on price. Then I would say plan it out right?

Explore Dubai: You are here to see a sight aren’t you? Now here’s the important part about seeing a sight. To focus just on that building and ice cream alone is maybe missing everything, I would say? You need to see The Dubai Mall. To walk all the way up The Dubai Frame is going to give you a view. Maybe even seeing some history? The Al Fahidi Historical Neighborhood does not look like the rich part of Dubai. However, it could be great!

Consider the Time of Year: This is important when in Dubai and that part of the world. In the same way you would not go up there, right? The ideal time of the year would maybe be December through February? You also might, as a matter of fact, save a bit too as these are not considered peak times. Okay? Keep that in mind.

Capturing Memories: Photos, Videos, and the ‘Gram

Dubai Travel Photography

Whatever you decide on with your plans here. Maybe you take great photos, very clearly videos also might be great. Share those on any platform you are familiar with! Remember, you’re very likely getting photos with very nice sites behind you.

Parasailing Shots: So if you bring a camera on parasailing? Verify where is the perfect place to hang it, so you capture the building in all its glory. At the end of the day? Maybe it is getting someone else on that vessel to click those photos!

Ice Cream Glamour: That is, let us just agree it has to look right. Get an image that really showcases just how absurd this is! Maybe in this part too find where some light will hit the plate! Okay? People might very well be jealous then!

Sharing Your Experience: Basically post some comments and such. Get your point of view out. You like how you saw the scene and took these awesome photographs, right? Use some good #hastags too, so they can get noticed here, too, okay?

Is this worth it when we assess our parasailing by The Burj Al Arab then taking a swing on the fanciest ice cream you can buy? As a matter of fact, is that only you can truly sort out how those funds and that opportunity should go. Here is to a splendid time either way!
