Like, it’s almost a must-do for fans of the movies and, actually, gives a chance to wander around some pretty areas of London, but it is that experience worth the time and, furthermore, the cash? So, I’ve been on the “Bridget Jones 25 Hour Walking Tour” – sounds intense, yet it’s a playful spin, really – and I thought that I would share, actually, my thoughts with you, you know, to see if it seems to be something you’d enjoy.

What to Expect on the Bridget Jones Walking Tour

Bridget Jones Film Locations London

Okay, so what, precisely, might you get up to? So, the Bridget Jones tour, more or less, takes you through various places around London featured in the films. We went to Borough Market, where Bridget works in “Bridget Jones’s Diary”. That is where you spot all those food stalls you might have seen in the movie. Actually, it’s a pretty buzzy place, even without thinking of Bridget, which is so something.

So, then there is the Globe Tavern near Borough Market. You see it because it acts, actually, as the outside of Bridget’s flat. Basically, grabbing a photo there is fun and that area has changed just a little. Really, the guide shows everyone pics from the film to get your bearings right.

So, naturally, the tour will weave its way to spots from “Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason” and “Bridget Jones’s Baby”, you know, for instance, locations where the third film took place.

Basically, remember that this tour involves getting around on foot. This means, basically, be ready for a fair bit of moving around, you know, walking, looking and seeing. The experience is about spotting what you can and taking photographs of familiar spots and learning some details about the area from, as a matter of fact, the tour guide. We walked close to a mile, in some respects, though I was looking at my phone and missed it.

The Guide’s Performance: A Storyteller or a Fact-Teller?

London Tour Guide

Alright, so, really, a good tour depends heavily on a guide who’s switched on and is, actually, capable. So, the guide basically had a reasonable grasp of Bridget Jones film details and little historical factoids about certain places we went to.

Like your experience depends, really, on how well the tour is done, like for example how clear and happy a guide is. It can really vary from brilliant and great fun to merely average, if I’m honest. You want, really, a guide who loves what they do, who can, actually, bring those locations to life and can make the experience special.

The Highs and Lows of the Walking Tour

London Walking Tour

Well, as is typical, really, every tour has its brilliant points and bits that you aren’t that into. Actually, being a proper fan, spotting recognizable places like the area that was used for the outside of Bridget’s pad was really brilliant.

In some respects, though, some places weren’t as exciting if you’re not a mega-fan, right? So, I reckon this type of tour will appeal more to people who’ve got the same vibe about “Bridget Jones,” you know, those who find her clumsy moments extremely hilarious. In that case you are going to love this type of walk and day.

Basically, something that could be better? So, actually, going inside a key filming location might give the tour a whole new boost of that magic and bring it really to life. A small cafe stop at the actual Bridget’s and Daniel’s regular haunt, where you grab a themed something like drink? Yes, this walk-around and movie nostalgia is okay without one, yet would make for extra something. In short, what do you feel?

Who is This Tour Good For?

Fans of Bridget Jones

Okay, really, if you can repeat back all of Bridget’s witty comments, know the Bridget’s stories like the back of your hand, actually, this type of walking day out is set up for you! Also, so if you fancy a lazy, stroll, seeing parts of London that you perhaps would not see usually. Arguably, it will also make a bit of exercise and will allow you, really, to do a little light shopping and take some snaps in Southwark. In conclusion you can grab one Instagram shot in your feed that isn’t just what’s in the city normally, right?

In contrast, actually, if romantic comedy cinema of Britain and Bridget, typically, are really not your sort of gig then there is zero likelihood of you appreciating where this particular day’s trip can take you.

Is It Actually Worth the Money?

Money

Well, right then, what you’re desperate to learn, maybe, is this actually worth dishing out hard-earned cash for? Seemingly, the overall worth comes back down to two things. Firstly, for fans? If this describes you and sounds a fun type of day out, actually, it offers a funny jaunt along the cinema story. As a matter of fact it does it quite well.

In some respects, for tourists wishing to see many tourist landmarks of London. Or those hunting big historic experiences? Okay, so you will be better off on the classic bus tours or looking into somewhere linked to the Royal Family. That said this might show you something a bit quirky or of note as a tourist still. Actually, though, keep your objectives on your specific type of likes and dislikes of days out.
