Barcelona! That Spanish city tends to bubble with excitement and passion, that’s for certain. The promise of rooftop tango lessons, plus bottomless drinks? I mean, is that real? Arguably, the answer is a resounding, “Sí!” I just had to try this out, like your average traveler always wants, and I’m happy to pass my thoughts right along, so you get a feel for whether it will suit you. What’s not to love about getting to learn the artful and very intimate moves of tango high above that famous town?

First Impressions: Reaching the Rooftop

Okay, locating that place took just a little investigating. The directions that they sent were quite clear, very, and soon enough I spotted myself in a smaller elevator heading upwards. That feeling the doors slide open onto that sight? In a way, pretty unforgettable. Arguably, Barcelona really spreads out under your feet, too, a patchwork of terracotta roofs slowly baking out under that sun. Then, of course, comes that welcome rush of a cold drink offered nearly the second I walked right onto that roof. I was very much prepared for the lesson already.

The Tango Teachers: Passion and Patience

Those instructors deserve big credit. Now, I don’t exactly come from an experience in formal dance, as a matter of fact! Yet, they guided even your truly awkward, basically two-left-feet student (AKA: me) through those starting steps with a whole bunch of flair and that patience thing. I mean, wow. It’s almost like that’s their life’s work, guiding fresh dancers with what can be quite complicated dance steps and cultural points. They mixed storytelling right in, too, a little bit of history for tango added so you start connecting with its origin, and stuff. Apparently, just some very, very great educators all around, okay?

Bottomless Drinks: Fueling the Fun

Alright, now let’s mention those bottomless drinks. We think that tango is romantic enough without the need of that liquid courage, you know? Now, it certainly loosens things up and gets some people feeling very free out on that roof, okay? That red sangria was typically flowing, fruity, too, but they also made sure to offer some non-alcoholic versions, as a matter of fact. If you don’t partake in adult beverages, that you don’t get overlooked clearly matters a lot. Those drinks keep coming, of course, as I was saying, keeping things lively, arguably creating a very joyous vibe, as I was saying.

The Class Structure: Steps and Flow

That lesson went for maybe 90 mins, maybe slightly longer, arguably, but the timing goes fast when having all that excitement. It started just a little slow: stance, those basic steps. Arguably, we moved to some actual turns with other dance patterns very soon, basically. They split people into partners so you could use whatever skills you picked up, clearly rotating through everybody to meet a lot of folk. And that’s where you felt a lot of camaraderie throughout that roof terrace, or a feeling, a shared “We’re getting it” – very amazing.

Ambiance and Setting: Dancing in the Sky

That ambiance adds heaps of value. Dancing, as I was saying, just slightly higher up than those chimneys or satellite dishes gave off something truly remarkable. The air got a lot cooler as evening went in, arguably just slightly, yet some of the small fairy lights sprinkled around definitely kicked off something intimate, okay? The sound of tango tunes pumping, as I was saying, along with Barcelona’s sprawling lights starting underneath? Honestly, is that a setting you could dream up for such a fantastic thing? Absolutely amazing!

Overall Value: Is It Worth It?

Alright, putting those fun elements together, would I just toss a thumbs-up their direction, that is the tango up high, including bottomless cups of beverage, as a matter of fact? Definitely! Obviously, there’s a big plus for that very great value to get what you end up paying. I believe that it gave you that something different outside so many things tourists do, clearly some way to connect while embracing Barcelona’s pulse, okay. Plus? The instructors knew ways to include newcomers so nobody sensed as if being overwhelmed. All pluses, really. I for sure recommend it!

• Enjoy Every Minute: Just go get so caught right up right into that joy dancing while getting such an incredible view.
