We made a stop at the Library of Alexandria, a spot that shows just how much this area values learning and saving ideas. Sure, it’s that all-new kind of place that took the spot of the great old one, and I feel, it’s still a jaw-dropper. That man did sound stoked just spitting all those specs. What he did say was that Qaitbey did really matter in that he strengthened up seaside fronts there. It just meant a lot that he turned Alexandria to what you think of right away, a very solid front side by the seaside. I felt the gush that history can touch off when I saw those old walls and looked to the place where ships might appear some day, somehow, in their numbers.
