Potential Drawbacks and Things to Consider

In fact, it’s definitely not all sunshine and rainbows. Now, because it was a private tour, I sort of expected a route away from some of the major crowds. In fact, that wasn’t always the situation. Some streets in the Old Town get jam-packed, and at times it was tricky to really hear Marek clearly with all the noise. This can change a bit if you consider going during off-peak seasons, just a suggestion, though!

And this wasn’t terrible, arguably the tour had a very firm structure. What I mean is there was not a lot of flexibility. In some respects, I wanted to dive a bit deeper into a specific topic Marek had briefly mentioned, and this just wasn’t possible. This tour does give a good broad brushstroke overview, and if that fits what you desire, so that makes sense. But it’s worth realizing the trade-off might be less room to explore any unexpected tangents of your own.

Value for Money and Overall Satisfaction

In general, was it worth what I spent? Alright, I believe it kind of was, yeah. Private tours, especially with perks like skip-the-line entry, they do tend to cost a little more, and honestly that hassle-free Basilica entry was great. When you factor in Marek’s solid knowledge and how well he delivered it, I came away feeling pretty happy with the experience. If you want a very general introduction to Krakow’s Old Town with a guide who knows their stuff, and are especially keen on seeing St. Mary’s Basilica without the long wait, so this hits the mark.

Then again, if you absolutely despise crowds, maybe you’re a photography buff keen to spend hours snapping pics, or perhaps you love to spontaneously explore, then this sort of organized tour might seem somewhat restrictive. Consider what’s very important to you when you’re selecting your experiences. But if the blend of guided history plus strategic access appeals to you, this Krakow Old Town tour should absolutely be on your list to consider!
