Brussels Card Review: Atomium & 48 Museums – Is it Worth It?

What exactly is the Brussels Card, anyway?

Well, basically, the Brussels Card is this tourist discount card that’s designed to help you save money, apparently, while exploring Brussels. I want you to consider the public transport bit carefully. In fact, this add-on gives you access to Brussels’ STIB/MIVB transport system – like all of their buses, trams and the metro and that. If you are travelling across town, then this is totally worth adding it in, isn’t it? Is that, otherwise, you are looking at purchasing separate tickets all the time. It is always more advantageous if you plan properly, apparently, with some careful forethought around the things that are important for you. It seems you, basically, really have to check that that ‘free entry’ is truly, like, ‘free’. I mean some museums have spots which ask for extra money for touring or for things to do. Like, sometimes, those attractions listed in that Brussels Card package end up having little added costs and fees that, suddenly, weren’t listed. So, do check this carefully, that’s just in case you were not already planning on checking carefully!

In some respects, let’s look at Some Alternatives

It seems that the Brussels Card may not be the only travel card offering value and savings for tourists. First of all, you will need to figure out if these alternatives meet expectations better; therefore, you will need a greater knowledge about them. I want you to remember to factor what is truly needed against those additional things, as sometimes paying extra for a few features is not something people might be so interested in, which I think is a great place to aim for in coming to conclusions about things.

Consider a City Pass instead?

Clearly, other cities offer the same thing. But they will have their differences, wouldn’t they? Sometimes they’re better and cheaper! Maybe you have to work out what’s going on. This, therefore, could definitely save you more money.

“Free” days at Museums

Like a heap of museums have days they, basically, let you in at no charge. Obviously, research these for all your museums before you leave and use these days if they’re happening. Apparently, you might think that with the discount tickets it’s a no brainer. You might even get in free. Obviously, you would need to make sure to know ahead to prepare to do what has to be done.

At the end of the day the Brussels Card is actually great for anyone thinking of checking out all the museums. I think it’s especially a win-win if you’re going to be properly hoofing it around and making use of that add-on public transportation option. The main thing is doing your figures first. Check out the museums on your list and work out if that card ends up being a cheaper deal. Just because it’s a cracking deal for someone, does not automatically mean it’s necessarily the correct deal for you!
