We tried a drink that I had never heard of prior to that called a “Wadadli Sunset.” Wadadli is the local name for Antigua, so this was definitely an authentic choice, just a little something special. What made it awesome was the blend of coconut rum plus pineapple juice, grenadine – I had a delightful island vibe immediately! That was definitely true, that day, at least. So, it was almost a great pick.

So, for the next bar, now it was in the heart of town and a totally chic lounge, that’s for sure. The selection here was a “chocolate martini”, anyway but made with cocoa rum locally produced there, too it’s almost an adult milkshake. This particular one, more or less appealed to the person inside me with the super refined tastes (plus the sweet tooth), so to be honest this place would almost certainly be one of my usual haunts while I’m visiting the area! Definitely. At the last spot the bar had, honestly, great views looking out across the harbor – the best way to finish the tour by far. Basically, as a closer drink, so to speak, there was a “dark and stormy,” using a very locally created dark rum – so to be honest the peppery ginger beer made it pretty outstanding, yet arguably what sold this whole deal was this particular spectacular vista. It definitely had to be seen to be believed. It had to be tried to believe!

Several things made this adventure shine. So, the knowledgeable guide, very much enthusiastic local fellow he was, who knew pretty much everyone. We almost bypassed queues plus heard some fascinating trivia. Plus, not forgetting that the cocktail themselves – obviously something worth mentioning. Yet I’d say above it all was that element, slightly, that took you far from any “tourist trap”-type locales and showed you something of Antigua’s authenticity. If it comes across clearly, is that my favourite things about the day!

Variety of Locations: Stopping at numerous different watering holes was super interesting.
The Drinks!: Obviously! But the mix was carefully handled and all genuinely Antiguan so worth it.

What Could Be Better?

So, it’s hard, almost, to really criticize given that it was so well done, but as a matter of fact, one tiny point is, very slightly more clarity about exactly what was covered from a cost viewpoint beforehand – whether tips at each place were factored or any further extras could potentially be useful to people prior to beginning. It didn’t ruin my experiences yet is something I reckon could possibly easily get some minor improvements done here, right?
