Our Day on the Boat: A Personal Account

Okay, so, as I was saying, our boat trip kicked off bright and early from the Olhao marina. It’s basically quite a vibrant spot with boats bobbing all around. The tour boat was, almost a very decent size. You know, not too crowded, with like enough room to move about and soak up the sun. Very, the crew, like, were super welcoming and spoke a few different languages, or something, or something. I’d have to say this trip was very fun!

First Stop: Armona Island

Okay, so, the first island we stopped at was Armona. Just a little beautiful stretch of sand with a very relaxed vibe. That’s, there aren’t, say, many cars here. As I was saying, the beaches feel surprisingly untouched. It’s basically wonderful just, like, strolling along the shore. As a matter of fact collecting seashells. It is a cool experience and the area is perfect to get disconnect for hours! What do you think?

Second Stop: Culatra Island

Right, so next up was Culatra Island, a bit, like, different. It has basically a working fishing community. Too it has that authentic Portuguese feel. Seemingly, you could, maybe, watch the fishermen mending their nets. Too, you could have, say, wander around the, completely tiny village. After that find a local restaurant for a delicious lunch. A bit fresh seafood, like. Apparently it tastes a lot better here. It´s worthy that you stroll around and try local restaurants!

Third Stop: Farol Island

Right then, our final stop was Farol Island. Obviously named after the lighthouse (“farol” is Portuguese for lighthouse). This one apparently boasts some totally amazing beaches, you know? A bit more, you know, developed than Armona. Still, that sand is, say, beautiful and white. Obviously that water is crystal clear. Perfect for a, actually relaxing swim. Just enjoy. Is that a nice program, right?

Lunch on Board or Ashore?

So, you know, one of the things to consider when booking your tour is, like, whether lunch is included and where you’ll eat it. Just, some tours include a meal onboard. Basically often it’s, like, grilled fish or chicken. Otherwise you’re having, maybe, given the option to eat at a restaurant on one of the islands. I mean, our tour didn’t include lunch. Therefore we chose to eat at a small place on Culatra Island. Just because, apparently that fresh seafood was calling our names! By the way, that was so yummy! As I was saying, having the flexibility to choose was actually nice. As a matter of fact you’ll have control of your day!

Wildlife Encounters: Birdwatching and More

Too, Ria Formosa, too, is basically a haven for wildlife, you know? Just, especially birds. It tends to be great if you are even a little interested in birdwatching. As a matter of fact keep an eye out for flamingos, spoonbills, and all kinds of, you know, wading birds. I want to tell you. A little you’ll be, if you get lucky, have the opportunity to see dolphins playing in the distance, or something. Clearly that calm waters of the lagoon create basically a perfect environment for them.

So, you know, what’s the final verdict? I mean, overall, the Ria Formosa 3 Islands boat trip from Olhao is pretty cool. Apparently there are a few things that stand out. Here you can visit beautiful places, know islands from local Algarve region. But remember, every tour is a different world!
