Victoria Falls Helicopter Flight with Masuku Safaris: An Awesome Experience?
So, thinking of seeing Victoria Falls from the sky? I wanted to give you all my thoughts on flying over this magnificent sight with Masuku Safaris. That said, a helicopter flight over Victoria Falls isn’t just a sightseeing activity; it’s an amazing chance to witness one of nature’s true spectacles from a totally unique viewpoint. In fact, it’s seeing the waterfall from the air, and it gives you a memory that is hard to forget, more or less. The Falls, known locally as ‘Mosi-oa-Tunya’ – ‘The Smoke That Thunders’ – they really are quite a sight to behold, but what’s it like going up in a helicopter to see them, right?
Why Choose a Helicopter Tour Over Victoria Falls, Seriously?
You might be asking, that is, “Why a helicopter, when I can view Victoria Falls from the ground?” Basically, seeing it at ground level is, of course, a wonderful thing, but being above the massive curtain of water gives a sense of scale and grandeur that ground views just can’t provide, in a way. The helicopter tour, for instance, it gives you unobstructed views of the Falls, the Zambezi River, and the surrounding landscape, which ends up highlighting the geological wonder that is around you, almost. And when you’re hanging out above the ground, it gives plenty of photographic moments, right?
Plus, you get to bypass any crowds; no jockeying for that spot with the selfie stick. Seeing it from up there gives you this sense of freedom as you get a new sense of what it means to see a wide-open view, basically. It truly makes what should already be something that is special an amazing thing that you never forget, alright? Also, depending on which way the wind blows, the mists can obscure some viewpoints at ground level – but up above, it’s clear as day, more or less.
Booking with Masuku Safaris: What To Anticipate
You know, when selecting an operator for something that you plan, you might be confused by how many possibilities there are, that said, I picked Masuku Safaris based on suggestions and good experiences I read in comments and on forums. Very, very impressive from the word go, so they are. The team dealt with all my demands in a very helpful manner and all the paperwork, any documents and stuff, were taken care of beforehand which I think helped things to flow easier, to be honest.
On the day of the flight, the transfer from my hotel in Livingstone was spot on, very much. After we showed up at the helipad, there was a safety discussion; I can say that it felt totally top quality and proficient which kind of put me at my rest, I think, or something. Their helicopters appeared to be extremely well maintained, and the pilots that were there were experienced local specialists with a love for what they do, basically. Before we headed up, they told us where the great photo places were going to be too. They’ve figured out, basically, how to fly, very nearly, and how to present it very, very nicely so their guests feel relaxed, still.
The ‘Flight of Angels’ Experience Over the Falls
When the chopper lifted off, it’s almost a magical kind of moment. And seeing the Falls come into full view? It’s a “wow” experience times ten! I guess that’s something everyone says. What the business people often call the ‘Flight of Angels’ truly delivers. That’s the experience, to be honest. As you get closer, the sheer size of the chasm just opens up ahead of you and the cloud made by water hitting the ground gets bigger too. Basically, what I am saying is it is magnificent!
The pilot does what he can to make sure each passenger is treated the same. They bank the aircraft on its side so each person can get some super clear views. At various spots, the radio comes to life and they also share important snippets or interesting facts related to Victoria Falls. Basically, it all adds something nice to make for something amazing!
Photography Tips from Above, Right?
Because the Falls and Zambezi River will present the most incredible photographic opportunity you can believe, I was thinking I’d give you a bit of info to help get your photography as perfect as it could be, is that right? One tip, is that to avoid any reflections, is to dress in black and don’t be pressing your camera against the window if you don’t need to. It’s all possible through this.
And, because light and weather will change so quickly in the air, be ready and have your shutter speeds set high. If you use the wide angle it will let you see everything more clearly than zooming in to pick a particular thing, OK. When there are strong contrasts the auto setting on your phone or camera might not work so well. What you will notice is, on a pro camera, changing the EV setting helps this, anyway.
More Things to do around Livingstone, Right?
Okay, so that said, your scenic flight in a helicopter may be the key attraction, so I feel you could be short changing yourself if that’s all you intend doing when in Livingstone! Very, very highly recommended is that you think about combining that helicopter flight over Victoria Falls with other great activities which I’m certain can only enrich what you take home as memories. And that, for sure, needs more planning.
The Royal Livingstone Express will certainly evoke images from days long ago! As you relax in a genuine steam train watching dusk turning to dark from a great viewing spot and indulging in something wonderful for supper – so that needs to be very highly placed on your itinerary of course. Why not consider getting close up with white rhinos, too it’s almost something for everyone’s wish list; for many, the rhino is hard to see so going with people that offer this near Livingstone may be perfect, right? This may not be the cheapest activity around, yet you might see how well your cash could be spent after you leave, in some respects.
